I'm struggling with writing a scene in my middle-grade book where my MC deals with his super embarrassing dad. My main difficulty was that I can't remember a single time my parents embarrassed me? So I think I need to collect some stories about embarrassing parents for me to draw on.

Beat me up because I didn't do well at a sports game, then went to go get a knife. This was all in front of his side of the family who did nothing. I managed to sneak away and run the two miles to my maternal grandparents house.

Pretty cringe of him imo.
