Privacy has become a very important issue in modern society, with companies and governments constantly abusing their power, more and more people are waking up to the importance of digital privacy.
In this community everyone is welcome to post links and discuss topics related to privacy.
Some Rules
- Posting a link to a website containing tracking isn't great, if contents of the website are behind a paywall maybe copy them into the post
- Don't promote proprietary software
- Try to keep things on topic
- If you have a question, please try searching for previous discussions, maybe it has already been answered
- Reposts are fine, but should have at least a couple of weeks in between so that the post can reach a new audience
- Be nice :)

What are you on about lol
All I hear is personal attacks. How is it disgusting privilege to just live my life? Your life would be exactly the same if you didn't open the news. It's just the news cycle preying on your sense of injustice and impotent rage for clicks and money. There's literally nothing you can do to stop a country on the other side of the world from doing stuff. And being snarky and hostile to neutral parties isn't going to gather you any more support or sympathy.
I support your right to declare ignorance! Your defence of it is incorrect.
There is not "literally nothing" you can do to resist genocide in another part of the world.
In this case, there's the opportunity to pressure your legislators into international action. There is the individual personal responsibility to avoid funding the genocide through purchases, and in business as well. Then there are activists who can help one be more effective.
The implication that none of this works is fatalism that is blind to the push and pull of history. Get out and push, if you can. If you can't, then at least learn what you can about why others care so much--before joining the conversation about it.
No offence, but I don't feel like this thread is the right place for any kind of rational discussion. You can use your imagination for what the mod removed comments contained

Petulant whining. I'm sure you aren't, but are you familiar with how apartheid in South Africa was addressed? You aren't powerless to affect change, unless you plug your ears and ignore it.
