This right here. The United States didn't launch shit. tRUMP started an illegal campaign, unsanctioned and unwarranted. Just like he did in Venezuela, just like he did when he started murdering people in boats in the Gulf of Mexico. He's a war criminal. WE didn't launch missiles targeting a school and murdering a bunch of little girls, HE DID.
Yeah, well, the policy of spending far more money in "Defense" than any other country in the World and even more than the next 6 countries combined, long predates Trump and is totally bipartisan.
And the rules that allow American presidents to launch attacks on other countries without Congressional approval also precede Trump by several decades and were also put in place with bipartisan support.
The whole edifice of American politics from the last several decades have pretty much together given a loaded gun to a toddler and, unsurprisingly, he fired it with no rime or reason.
Countries with no such extreme cult of Militarism and Imperialism have a far, far higher barrier to end up in wars with other countries when some out of control Far-Right muppet gets elected to power - I mean, just look at how, for example, Argentina has yet to start a war with anybody even though they too have a Far-Right nutter in power.
Putting the blame entirelly on the toddler for shooting that loaded gun is bullshit.
Too many people still treat trump like the disease instead of the symptom, the rot is there and you have to cut it ALL out to survive, not just the mole head.
yup, it's somehow everyone but trumps fault. OK. Cool. Great point. Well thought out.
That's not what was said, try reading it again.
Oh really? Did he sail down there and do it all by himself? Or was it the US Military that did it?
Like it or not Trump is President of USA because the American people elected him!
So it is indeed true that US started the illegal campaign, and bombed a girls school, and the people of USA are as guilty in this as the German people were about the Nazi atrocities of WW2.
You don't get to wash your hands for the entire population of USA, that chose to vote for the obvious psychopath, and the about a third of the population of USA that still support Trump and what the administration is doing.
Like it or not, this is America, this is who you are now!!!
This person is right. All of America is MAGA in the eyes of the world. It will continue to be MAGA until it revolts and crushes their leaders and their families and their businesses and their way of life. Until then, every American is MAGA or a coward, and I honestly don't know which is worse.
The difference between the US being 100% MAGA or being 30% MAGA seems negligible, given that MAGA policy happens either way.
Don't take this badly, but when it comes to military aggression on far away countries, most of Americans were MAGA before that slogan even existed - this shit, spending money to enable this shit and putting in place the policies that allow this shit to easilly be made to happen was all done with bipartisan approval and that of most Americans.
The only Americans not MAGA in this sense are the ones who have always been anti-War.
Well then the "world" is wrong. Stop being so fucking stupid and abandoning factual reality.
You sound like that Tesseract guy. It must be everyone else that's wrong. Not Americans. Factual reality is that Americans caused this mess and no amount of "I didn't vote that way" whining will change how you're viewed.
I know my opinion isn't popular, not even with me, but this is the way it is now.
It is sadly true. Just like the Nazis in the past, we Americans are all in the same bag whether we like it or not. Can't really blame you.
Yeah ok, we're all Nazis now apparently. Cool.
If you don't stand up, yes you're a Nazi.
Do you think that people worldwide made distinctions on who the "good" German's were while the Nazis steamrolled Europe?
Look, I don't like it but this is what the rest of the world is going to see. Relax, if we didn't want people to think this maybe we should have fought harder than just thinking voting would solve all our problems in a broken system.
Do you think literally ever German was responsible for Nazi policies?
Do you think it's WRONG to say every single Japanese person deserved to die in the American nuclear bombings, even children and infants? I do. I don't care if other people are so stupid that they make such careless generalizations. We should all be better than that. You're excusing their bigotry.
Voting did solve our problem, not voting is what caused this. Another one you stupid fucking keyboard revolutionaries, right?
No, I am not going to accept blatant falsehoods to make non-Americans feel better about their bigotry and I am not taking the blame for something I'm not responsible for.
When to world looks at Russia attacking Ukraine, most people realize that there are Russians who are anti-war. That doesn't negate the fact that 'Russia' is in fact to blame, and things are largely viewed on a country to country level, for a conflict between two countries. You might ask 'Why don't they kick out Putin?' And answer ' Russia has a long history of bowing to imperialists'. The thought process is very similar when it comes to how the world views the USA, and Americans, right now.
The political will of the nation caused this, and USA has a long history of unjustified brutal aggression. You've been demonstrating well a big piece of the problem, which is that America thrives on a lack of accountability, and rather than showing shame and humility, such as expressing how ashamed you are of the nation's actions, or how sad you are that the world begins to view America this way, instead it's all defensiveness, deflection of blame, and 'shut up idiot you dont know shit'. It is, and has been, put up or shut up time for a while now, a general strike or similar huge action is desperately needed and the fact that it hasn't happened can only be blamed on Americans.
Here's the thing, I agree with this completely. But it IS NOT what I'm arguing against here. I'm arguing against the people that are saying each individual American is responsible. I'm not misinterpreting what they're saying, they're being very explicit.
These people aren't differentiating "America" as currently directed by Trump and supporter by Trump supporters. They are blaming ALL Americans.
Can I say that every member of the UK is responsible for Brexit and that I think every man, woman and child is an idiot for bringing it about? No, that would be wrong - that would being an arrogant and ignorant American.
But non-Americans ALWAYS get a pass when they act that towards us. People are calling me a Nazi in this thread - are you saying that's justified?
I get it, it's a shitty situation, and it sucks being lumped in with Nazis. Your responses here don't help. You are playing the rude, standoffish yank, and that fits the 'all americans' narrative perfectly. Gives 'not all men' vibes.
All US citizens (myself included) feed the evil empire and share some of the blame. I've had many conversations with those who despise Trump, but still prop up his neo Nazi movement though defensiveness, American exceptionalism, and shit talking other countries in response to grievous unfair actions of the USA, rather than offering up humility and contrition. America's unchecked aggression is a matter or both style and substance, if you dont agree with their substance, then don't get mad and use their style. If, given the depths to which the USA has sank, Americans still can't say 'we are all implicated' then the national strike moment will never come.
With all due respect, I think I have a reason to be upset. It's entirely unjustified. I think calling someone you know nothing about a Nazi just might be considered "rude". I'm being equated with the greatest monsters in human history because of where I was born. And if I were doing this to people from another country, I have my doubts you would be ready to justify my actions.
I am not the cause of people calling me a Nazi. The fact that I'm American is the reason. All these people who don't know me get to trash me left and right and I'm the asshole if I don't like it. It's bigotry by definition.
And frankly, if we're "Nazis" the rest of world is doing a very, VERY poor job of stopping us. Or doing anything. In fact, I can probably guarantee most of the people calling me a Nazi have leaders that work with Trump and allow him to visit their countries and such.
Lmao my god man, get a grip. You're making it worse and sound like a hyper nationalistic jackass.
You didn't address a single thing I said and just resorted to insults. Pretty fucking pathetic, dude.
Either don't respond, make an argument or admit you don't have one.
I am ridiculously far from a "nationalistic jackass". I just do not accept bigotry or misinformation IN ANY FORM. And you're a spineless coward caving to it, letting people blame for things you're not responsible for.
What other forms of bigotry would like to engage in? Are all black people criminals? Are all car accidents caused by Asian drivers? Or maybe we should ask our European friends about the Roma or Muslims? That's what bigotry is. You should not excuse it, ever. It is ALWAYS wrong.
All these non-American bigots are refusing to name their own countries because they know they have their share of bigots and their own sordid histories.
We should be question America, have you seen what this country has done in the last 250 years?
Kinda, yeah. We are currently sitting at the table with Nazis. They are our administration, and we have yet to clear them from the table. And until we do, it's not unfair for other nations and their people to assume we're Nazis as well.
If we don't want to look like Nazis then we have to clean house until none of the filth remains. And if you're not willing to do that, then you should get used to the same scorn Germans had to deal with after Hitler, because you deserve it.
TL;DR Don't want to be accused of being a Nazi, then we shouldn't let Nazis sit at our table.
For fuck's sake man, what is this tendency to make this ridiculous comparisons.
The Nazis invaded most of Europe and systematically rounded up and murdered 12 million people based on their Aryan racial ideology.
I know the US has a lot to be criticized for, but we ARE NOT doing that. That's just a fucking fact.
How am I supposed to "stop people from being at my table" in a country of 300 million? You know why these non-American bigots refuse to admit which country they're from? Because they know they ALSO have far-right maniacs in their country. They have racists. They have sordid histories. They're not clearing THEIR table of extremists because, deep down, they know how fucking stupid of a request that that is.
Stop falling for their bullying. I didn't vote Trump, I did what I could to convince others not to. I am not responsible for his presidency. What am I supposed to do?
No we're just throwing people in concentration camps, and murdering them in the streets. Threatening various countries that we'll invade and starting wars. We may not have progressed as far as actual round ups in other countries yet, but Nazi Germany didn't start there either lol.
Organize with your neighbors, arm up, and find ways to root out Republicans out of your local government. If your voting is still in tact, then pound pavement and knock on doors with your organized neighborhood compatriots for local progressive candidates. If you don't know where to start, I started with a BBQ, but I think an Ice Cream Social or Community Potluck are good other options for those that live in apartments. I chose food as my icebreaker, but I'm sure there are other social activities that could serve as bait. Currently we've been stockpiling canned goods, water, antibiotics, and ammunition. Even if ICE doesn't show up(My initial pitch for organizing was about ICE), and things somehow get better without directing any violence on our part other than the act of voting, we figure, at least we're still prepped for emergencies.
And it doesn't matter if we didn't vote for Trump. Trump is still the douchebag in charge, as are his little child raping compatriots in the Republican Party, and being supported by the Supreme Court Justices (rulings that are not enforced, aren't real rulings, just like laws). So until others either see effective protest through civil disobedience, or effective self defense by killing those who threaten harm and have the capability of pulling off said threats, then yeah, I can't blame people for calling us Nazis.
And frankly, if you're not willing to organize as the most basic step, and prefer to keep making excuses, you very much deserve their "Bullying"(lol).
You're supposed to apologize for drinking the American superiority Kool aid, accept responsibility for the choices your country makes nationally and internationally, and then start making sacrifices in your life that will remedy the situation.
If you cannot do this, then yes, you are an enabler and deserve all this negativity.
Your opinion is wrong, factually. It is based on an incredibly poor understanding of the situation. You're just looking to excuse your bigotry.
Some Americans are to blame, some are not. Which incredibly simple concept are you not getting? Democracy? Or the fact that the US is made up of more than one individual?
There is no logical basis for your bullshit argument and thankfully, no matter how presumptuous and pompous you apparently are, you don't speak for the entire rest of the world.
Check the rest of the replies to your comments. Even your fellow countrymen are siding with me.
When you commented on the Japanese deserving to be bombed, no the individuals did not. Did Japan deserve to be bombed? Yes, just not with atomic weapons. Similarly, do all Americans deserve to suffer? No. Does America? Absolutely. The fact that you can't understand that who your country is internationally is who you the American citizen are, just further lends weight to my argument.
Unfortunately unlike previous decades, you Americans don't get to ignore the other 98% of humanity. Welcome to the century of American humiliation. You chose it, you live with the consequences.
You're the one ignoring a huge chunk of our population. Shove your hypocrisy up your ass.
Oh, and also apparently we're simultaneously policing the globe but also ignoring it entirely?
Ignoring the wants and agency of the globe is not incompatible with 'policing' the globe, especially given the style of American 'policing' is killing random fishermen and triple tapping girls schools.
And who cares about a large chunk of your population that is apparently powerless and too pathetic to do anything to stop the war crimes the US has been committing every single day of every single year since its founding.
Well yeah it is, by definition. If we're engaging with the rest of the world in any way, we're not ignoring it. Don't move the goalposts, you dishonest piece of shit.
What country are you from? Or you another pussy on this site that refuses to divulge because you know what'll happen? We all know you won't.
lolwut? You think his election was unanimous?
There is obviously election interference. There was a mailbox on fire in a blue city, bomb threats called where dem voters were. There was no evidence for interference in 2020 and it has piled up for 2024. When I voted my notification paper did not come out of the machine. They have gerrymandered everything and are doing everything to discriminate against women and black people so that it's harder for them to vote.
Using google, Amazon, or Microslop? Because there is a reason these assholes have all this power. That's why I'm doing a lot to protect privacy, big corps, and fight facism that way.
You're right to say he was elected. Which means it's a really stupid oversight on your part to say it's "all" Americans guilty for it, considering quite a few of us did NOT vote to elect him.
That's correct. Neither do you get to implicate the entire population.
As a nation Americans as a collective of a nation are guilty.
No one else is responsible for the American government than Americans.
Thanks for that. Damn. I'm so tired of getting buried under fascism and getting beat up for someone else's shit at the same time.
They should try being LGBT here right now.
Buffalox, What country are you from that 100% of your hands are clean?
I do not claim my hands are clean, it was the poster I responded to that claimed that.
You just did nothing to stop him.
I voted and actively campaigned door to door and within my family against him, so not nothing.
What did you do?
Voting stopped Hitler, right?
well go get to shooting then! I look forward to reading about you in the paper
Except the money to launch these things are coming from your tax dollars. Trump gives those orders, but God knows how many Americans need to listen to them so this bullshit can happen. It's America doing this alright.
Like it or not, the US president is wielding the US like a cudgel at the rest of the world and the individual American is powerless to stop him.
Yes and no. He gave the orders. He didn't actually do the actions to make them happen. "I was just following orders" still doesn't work.
Look, mate, at least half a century of pro-Military American policies with bipartisan support (from the decades of spending in "Defense" more than the next 6 countries combined to the laws that let an American president attack a country without Congressional approval) have put a massive gun in the hands of this toddler and made sure it was loaded.
So you don't get to blame it all on the toddler in whose hands a loaded gun was placed.
