Then we have the leftists and DSA members who stay home and don't vote, because their ideal candidate lost in the primary and they can't compromise their values; then a republican wins.

[-] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

I consider them the same level of gutter scum that I consider conservatives.

The strategy here is to primary and run demsocs in democratic strongholds. Like those California districts that will never turn red. If its a competitive district vote against the republican so at the least youre stalling their project 2025 horse shit. Also dont trust a third party that only shows up for presidential elections.

Also dont trust a third party that only shows up for presidential elections.

Like renowned magician Jill Stein, who magically appears during elections, siphons votes away from non-fascist candidates that can actually win, then magically disappears again after she inevitably loses.

Lot of braindeads fell for that one last time around.

Refreshing to see someone get it, and put it so simply. Agreed, I’m all for incremental change, when it’s the only option. Go for the big wins when there is legitimate opportunity, but it takes work to get them. The biggest piece people miss is those opportunities start locally, and in primaries.

Most these days just want to vote, nothing else, so they check out until it’s time to pull the lever, and then they just bitch and moan about the shit sandwich they have in front of them.

So how many times does a republican have to win until you listen to a socialist?

[-] socsa@piefed.social 3 points 2 days ago

I'd love to listen to more socialists like Mamdani and Janeese Lewis George who understand the value of pragmatism. Unfortunately internet socialists are often just contrarian campists, so I tend to not listen to them.

In a system where power is granted by votes, why bother listening to the dipshits who don't vote?

[-] K1nsey6@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

What has your vote resulted in other than a right wing hellscape enabled by democrats?

[-] Godric@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

When has your nonvote ever resulted in other than the current right-wing hellscape enabled by you?

You really shouldn't attach your ideology to every goofball comment; you give off the impression all communists are whiney indignant teenagers. Hell, you're even tempting me further away from atheism, like you've shat your pants on the subway XD

Be better. If you can only make your voice heard in internet comments and not voting booths, you frankly don't deserve to be heard.
