If you cover the parking lot, then how am I supposed to enjoy my 140°F car after letting it sit in the sun for 8 hours at work? We can't have that.

I've seen people put solar on carports, so the idea does seem to be picking up traction at least.

Yeah I've seen it happen in news articles far away from me. I'd love to see it become more common.
