Which is fine, I'm sure that individual people on both sides have individual opinions about those things and not everything popular with everyone etc but at the end of the day it was entirely tolerated by the left. And that establishes a precedent, and then the precedent is then used by following presidents of either political stripe

And this is a running theme. Over the last 15 years or so there have been a number of things which have escalated beyond their normal status Which the left has been silent about only to find the same things used against them at which point they Complain. at that point is too late.
