I do this a lot because often the company website has more product selection than what is soleld on Amazon. So, it is a net win for shoppers. Bonus! Sometimes the company's prices are slightly lower than Amazon (even without the code).
As an owner of a small business, the better selection and discount code is all you can do if you want to remain on Amazon. If you offer your product for cheaper off Amazon, they will flag your product and either take it down, or just completely bury your product in the search results.
…after they copy your product, make it out of cheaper materials and sell it under the price of the original. Rinse and repeat (at least that’s how I read Amazon has done this, not sure if it’s still doing it)
Good to know!
Pretty much my experience too, however I have bought directly from brand or reseller sites that either use Shopify checkout or Amazon Logistics for shipping anyway. Sellers need to choose to boycott certain companies at P.O.S., or at least offer an option.
Maddeningly I’ve run into brands whose ‘online store’ is just a link to their Amazon page. But most of the time this is a good strategy.
