From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

Did you upgrade or is it a new install?
I thought upgrades weren't officially available until August.
not a fresh install, it offered me the upgrade a couple of weeks ago through discover
I've generally heard 26.04 isn't doing too hot right now, and I always thought there wasn't an officially supported upgrade path until things are more stable in the new release, but maybe that's Ubuntu proper and not Kubuntu.
I haven't gotten a notice to upgrade, however. Also on Kubuntu 24.04.
must've been a small window where it notified me then, idk. distrowatch has the release date as 2026-04-23 but i might've upgraded in early may as i am not super keen to update when i have a stable system.
i have no issues other than spectacle.
