It's a phonetic slur for "white people". Try to say it.

I didn't know we needed such a word.

You can call me whatever you want, but I will adjust my expectations of anyone using skin color based slurs to generalize people - regardless of the color.

🤣🤣🤣
Call me when you get strung up to be hung by a sheriff calling you wypipo. Then you can call it a slur.

[-] bstix@feddit.dk 2 points 44 minutes ago

The cop called me "a destitute" the last time I was arrested. Does this count?

[-] Nouvellalia@lemmy.world 1 points 36 minutes ago

Nope.

And, the whole ordeal would have been worse if you were black. It seems you're struggling with the juxtaposition of white privilege and being treated like a poor person. All whiteness gets you is "better treatment than the exact same scenario if you were not white". That's it. It does not confer any guarantee of good treatment or success or wealth or anything at all. It confers only that one specific thing I pointed out.

I'm sure you are being treated poorly, I'm sure you've got it bad. Whiteness only gets most people "first slave" picked for the "good slaving". Unfortunately, historically that's enough to divide and conquer.

You're describing American racism, and rightfully so, because wypipo is also an American reference to the privileged white American stereotype.

I'm not American, which is why I question the need for all these distinctions in the simple concept of hating everyone outside your own tribe.

This is a rhetiricical question though. You need these words because you're all American, and a majority of you hate everyone outside your own tribe.

"Whiteness" doesn't really refer to skin colour. Who is and isn't considered "white" (a surprisingly modern concept) is a often a rather complicated point of regional culture.

I've heard whiteness be described as "proximity to power", which seemed pretty accurate

Coming soon: no more honky tonk tones for the Irish and Italians, back to the undesirable heap with them.

[-] TankovayaDiviziya@lemmy.world 4 points 8 hours ago

Would this be algorithm speak though? I've seen in social media spell "wyt", which is probably to circumvent the algorithm censorship.

[-] bstix@feddit.dk 2 points 5 hours ago

It's from twitter or something so possibly.

According to the following explanation, it's not really racist, but only used against the bad white people. I swear I've heard this before somewhere..

🤣🤣🤣
Show me on this doll where the sun touched you. I know it's hard, but this is the only way we can stop him from hurting others.
