Iranian negotiators will stop exchanging messages with the U.S. through intermediaries, and Tehran will move to fully close the Strait of Hormuz, in retaliation for ongoing ceasefire violations, Iran’s state-affiliated news outlet Tasnim said Monday.

The report, in a translated post on the social media site Telegram, homes in on Israel’s military operations in Lebanon against the Iran-backed militia Hezbollah.

I mean how the hell do you even negotiate with the US right now. Our words mean nothing, our agreements mean nothing, we're going lock step with isreal who's word means even less. Our definition of "cease fire" means you cease we fire.

Iran would have to be Charlie Brown with the football to keep negotiating.

This gets glossed over too often, the US lacks any credibility, across the board. They’ve skipped right past the marrying your horse phase of civic collapse.

Even worse, negotiations with US brings a high risk of being attacked. During negotiations, of course.

How about they agree to hand over the enriched uranium?

[-] VinegarChunks@lemmus.org 6 points 4 hours ago

Why in the world would Iran do that?

[-] Afaithfulnihilist@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 9 hours ago

Hot take, how about no.

I would go even further and say that they have a right to build a fully functioning national nuclear power grid including the ability to refuse ne and enrich several different types of isotopes for a variety of reasons.

I don't love nuclear weapons, and we were on a global track to reduce them until we decided to give them to Israel and India while also demonstrating to the world that they are a required tool to protect you from invasion.

Iraq, Afghanistan, Ukraine and now Iran have all been severely punished for not having nuclear weapons at their disposal while North Korea gets repeatedly rewarded through non intervention just for maintaining theirs.

Does watching gays swinging from their cranes make you fantasize about what they would be able to do with a nuclear weapon?

[-] gladflag@lemmy.ml 7 points 7 hours ago

Go watch some videos of what ICE is doing in Delaney right now. Are you salivating?

[-] couldhavebeenyou@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 hour ago

Watching them suppress protestors makes you root for Iran?

[-] Diurnambule@jlai.lu 1 points 22 minutes ago

I dunno, does iran try to destabilize the world because they don't want to arrest pedofiles ? May be Iran is a shit country but at least they are not actively trying to destroy the world. Is it the love for pedofile which make you attack iran ?
