Literal political weaponization to go after a victim of your leader. The Republican party is so despicable...

iTs TrUe ThOuGh.

Democrats couldn't even raise minimum wage. Useless.

ETA this post is now my most unpopular, unseating the former champion, "fuck the pope". You've been a terrific audience, thank you!

[-] Tujio@lemmy.world 49 points 3 days ago

Democrats don't do anything.

Republicans do evil things.

Yeah, one side is fucking worse.

[-] Mulligrubs@lemmy.world 8 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Sure. I've voted D for last two national elections.

But... they're still absolutely shit. Two different turds, one is less runny. Good job.

Over 70% of voters want universal healthcare, Ds can't be bothered. Our "labor party" can't even manage to keep our wages and benefits above those of POLAND. Un-fucking-believable, we've been surpassed by eastern europe.

Biden couldn't even manage ONE stand alone minimum wage bill. Didn't even bother. You should be ashamed to defend him, that was his platform. What he did there was an evil thing.

He didn't need 60 votes. They can use the "nuclear option" whenever they'd like, for example, passing judges just requires 50 votes. (which 8 Ds just crossed the aisle to vote for an individual who refuses to say that Biden won the 2020 election). Excellent work again, Ds.

Trent Lott the Republican came up with the "nuclear option" term, and bOtH pArTiEs adopted it immediately, because it scares the shit out of dummies. Before 2000s, that simple majority vote was known as the "constitutional option". They can do this whenever they'd like. They had minimum wage in the fucking bag for first two years. Are you blind?

Listen, I'm the first person to point out that the D party has it's fucking problems. But saying "both sides suck" is just bullshit. A sprained ankle and and amputated leg both suck, but let's not fucking equivocate here.

[-] MiddleAgesModem@lemmy.world 11 points 3 days ago

Oh fuck you, you sack of garbage. Biden or Harris would never do the vast majority of the fucked up shit Trump has already done.

[-] NihilsineNefas@slrpnk.net 1 points 3 days ago

Other than, you know, funding and defending a genocide, declaring that the most contagious neurological and immune compromising viruses to have ever been made in a lab was 'over' because billionaires were losing too much money.

[-] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 4 points 3 days ago

to have ever been made in a lab

Yeah, right. You'd best get back on Qanon.

[-] NihilsineNefas@slrpnk.net 1 points 3 days ago

Yep, definitely just a schizo right wing story and has no basis in reality.

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/12/3/us-lawmakers-back-covid-lab-leak-theory-after-two-year-probe

https://oversight.house.gov/release/breaking-hhs-formally-debars-ecohealth-alliance-dr-peter-daszak-after-covid-select-reveals-pandemic-era-wrongdoing/

Absolutely no evidence to suggest that the virus (accidentally or otherwise) originated as a gain of function experiment in a lab.

Besides that, my main point is that the democratic administration downplayed the ongoing pandemic to protect moneyed interests, and not as a result of actual eradication of the virus.

TO CLARIFY: I do not support the current administration IN ANY WAY. Denying wrongdoing on the part of the democrats, however, is either wilfully ignorant or naive at best.

I vote every election, and voted for Harris and Biden before that.

Ds are a minority now for a reason... less than a third of voters, just like Rs. It's because you're both absolute shit parties.

Over 70% of voters want universal healthcare and higher minimum federal wage for example.. voters have wanted this for years.

Independents are now 40%+ of voters. You require our votes to win any national election.

Please stop treating those who help you like garbage, and at least pretend to be a reasonable person. You're only fucking yourself and your own party over. Good job, professor.

p.s. Oh, and knowing my voting is against your wishes makes it all the sweeter, thanks! I would feel awful if someone like you agreed with me.

[-] KneeTitts@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

less than a third of voters, just like Rs. It’s because you’re both absolute shit parties

Ive seen the entire country go red, a few times in fact, Ive never seen it go all blue. Maybe lets try that once just to see what happens. Maybe the reason dems suck is because they never been given the power to do anything.

[-] MiddleAgesModem@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Ds are a minority now for a reason…

Because dumbfucks like you continue to equate them with Republicans.

Over 70% of voters want universal healthcare and higher minimum federal wage for example… voters have wanted this for years.

I guess that's why so many Americans considered even Obamacare to be "death panels". You're full of shit, you goddamn fucking dumbass.

[-] TrippingBalls@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

But I like the illusion that my vote can change something

[-] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

I appreciate you self identifying this way

[-] Bonesince1997@lemmy.world 11 points 3 days ago

Imagine thinking deplorable doesn't define a republican, especially with actions like these and days like Jan 6th under their belt.
