lacrimal glands, where tears are produced, are actually a type of exocrine gland.The crine in endocrine and exocrine come from Ancient Greek κρίνω (krínō) which has many definitions, allegedly including “to separate, also to secrete”.... Except, does it? The "to secrete" meaning of κρίνω was actually only added to wiktionary by a random IP address in 2023.
