MODERATORS
So, the strongest of the weak teams gets the best draft picks?
And the weakest team gets lower draft picks (but still ahead of the playoff contenders)?
Am I understanding that correctly?
More or less, with a couple of caveats (Wikipedia was helpful here).
Teams don't start accumulating points until they're officially eliminated from the playoffs.
The worst teams are eliminated first, and therefore play more games in which they can earn points.
That's an important bot of nuance that I missed.
