So Americans, are you really going to let this clearly unhinged man drive the world into nuclear Armageddon? You will cling on to the jobs you say you hate until the last second of doom lest you find balls and do anything?
As much as I hate to admit it, because I am one, modern Americans are wimps.
I mean....we're letting a criminal pedophile drive our futures into the dirt. As in, we will see a decline in the quality of our lives, for the remainder of our lives.
It's not really a matter of opinion. We're weaklings.
Whether "America The Brave" was true at some point or just propaganda, the bottom line is we're completely and totally pathetic right now. An absolutely shameful time to be an American citizen.
What exactly are we supposed to do? Our government commands some of the world's most advanced intelligence agencies. The military would easily crush any armed resistance. But for all the talk of electoralism being ineffective, they managed to oust Orbán in Hungary after 16 years of him ratfucking their democracy. I don't think the U.S is so far gone that we can't turn this whole saga into a history lesson in 2028. The path to that starts in the midterms, so we need to vote like the future of this country depends on it because it does.
Oh please. Whoever gets the Dem nomination is going to continue all the evil warmongering and disastrous economic corruption Trump is guilty of, they'll just be less obnoxious about it.
I would have thought the same but you guys (speaking generally of course) reelected the Child Rapist and not 2 weeks ago, still voted a republican back to Congress to replace MTG...
So yes, there is a theoretical chance to get rid of this problem via voting... but something tells me Americans are unable to learn lessons anymore
We're not wimps, weaklings, or cowards. We're simply not allowed to walk up to Trump's house, knock on his door, tell him everything he's doing is atrocious, and tell him to stop it, and we're not allowed to do all the other illegal things we wish we could do to him either. We'd end up in prison or dead. If anyone decides to do any of that, he'd be a heroic Luigi, but Luigi is rotting away in prison now. And/or we need a large scale united front uprising. We must study ants and learn from them how to unite a million people to accomplish one big task together.
Oh, of course, it's because we don't have permission! Might as well let them kill us.

You mean the job that pays for my rent and food so I'd don't freeze/starve to death? Yeah, I don't really have a choice. I hate the shit Trump is doing but not enough to destroy my entire life over it. Even if whatever I do in protest is successful. If I lose this job I'm not just going to be able to pick back up where I left off at a new place. It's going to be a pay cut and I'm not making enough as it is.
Well... there are probably a million options to enact before self immolation but you are choosing to just play the card victim and pretend there is nothing you can do until there will be truly nothing you can do.
Let's not forget you guys have been at the "shrug and ignore" tactic for at least 15 - 20 years now?

you could do small stuff that by itself won't stop the child rapist but would create pressure like dropping the spy services like Meta, xitter, etc… you could donate to groups actually organizing, you could email your friends and fam to encourage them as well…
Of course, you are likely to do none of that because it's a minor inconvenience to you and it won't solve the problem quickly, completely and permanently
You could do harder stuff like organize strikes in your city but you won't because there is actual work and risk in this and you'll implode if you lose your job

No one would follow me and yeah, I already covered the fact that I'm not going to torpedo my entire future (however shitty it may be) to have a minimal impact on what Trump is doing.
If you are really that precarious, you will probably be on the street soon anyway due to Trump's upheaval around the world. Better get planning on how to be homeless.
Guess I'll have a lot less to lose if that happens.
