How I envision people pitching new tech these days
(lemmy.world)
"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"
A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.
AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.
I'm likely less against AI than most of the people here, but I've seen whole pitches were "detail proposal" was rejected because the counter proposal was "AI agents... Somehow". So now we need to fucking cram AI agents on top of the actual work because else we just lose the projects.
10 years ago it was there same with NN. We when had to train a NN to do some deterministic decision three. Just what could be done 100%%accurate with like 20 if else. But sales promised NN. Bonkers.
I'm old enough to remember when vendors were pitching "Fuzzy Logic" ... sigh.
