My friends and I use spoons, some olive oil in a spoon, grind the weed or break up the hash and put it in the oil, in the spoon.
Heat up with a lighter underneath, or you can hover it over gas hobs. Careful not to spill any of the oil as it heats up and expands a little and you moving the heat around the bottom of the spoon.
It will start to bubble - decarboxylation; once it's stopped bubbling, or bubbling less then it's decarbed. You don't want it to get too hot, just enough to bubble, and then bubbling subside.
Dunk hot THC oil from the spoon into a full fat yoghurt or similar, or full fat milk, whatever - to cool it and help it absorb in you.
And then consume! Takes like 5 mins :)
Edit: just to highlight the "quick and dirty" part of my question 🙏 I'm talking low tek, low effort methods, not aeropressing or distilling crystals or whatever! Think strugglemeals 🤣
oh, my point wasn't about accidentally leaking fluid, but about how inefficient BIC lighters burn and how they leave icky residue and will contaminate your edibles with butane - it's just not an ideal way to decarb your flower, for lots of reasons
and I ask because it just sounds like something a teenager would do, I found it hard to imagine an adult wanting to make edibles by heating a spoonful of oil with a BIC lighter ... sure, I would say it comes across as immature, but I don't mean to be toxic about it, sorry 🫤
the thread you chose to reply to is literally "quick and dirty edibles", I can see you didn't understand that as your answer was vape hits and eating weeks/months worth of avb 🤣
No hard feelings but not sure what else to say✌️✌️✌️😁
I guess I see ABV as a waste product, so eating it as an edible feels very "quick and dirty" to me, at least
otherwise I don't have much to add, when I'm decarbing a bunch of flower to make edibles, I bake them at a particular temp and then grind them up, put them in oil, then strain - the strained off flower and oil I actually use and eat first, particularly medicinally, and the more refined stuff is good for cooking / baking.
But I rarely bother, and just eat ABV as my "quick and dirty" edible option
