Never was much of a "ladies man" - guess that helps explain some small part of the reason why. Fortunately for me, I still managed to get some fool to fall for me anyway. Approaching three decades together now, so while I appreciate the tip I'm lucky enough not to have much need for it.

Nonetheless, thanks for being understanding of where I was coming from. I can't say I understand how challenging it must be to be trans, but I wanted to convey my respect and appreciation for you going through all that and still having the courage you seem to. You are a far stronger person than I in that regard, and I apologize if what I said came off a bit crass - it was not my intention.

I can't fully fathom what it's like in your shoes, so I'm probably badly screwing up my attempt to be supportive. I suspect, however, that you've dealt with such awkwardness enough before to already know the well-meaning intentions behind it all. As such, I'm gonna shut my mouth & leave it at that.
