If you are here asking: "Is this a science meme?"
Probably, yes. We use the Dawkins definition of meme: a replicating idea, not just an image macro with a fact on it. A good post here doesn't need to teach you something. It needs to make you ask something: who, what, where, when, and especially why or how.
Science isn't a filing cabinet of facts, it's a conversation. For example, a photo of an eel or other localized wildlife counts because most people never see one, and wonder is the first step of inquiry. A car meme counts if it makes you curious about what's under the bonnet. If you want to talk about something you noticed in the world, chances are someone else wants to talk about it too.
We moderate for vibe, not category. Pruning is light, especially where a post creates interesting discussion. Experimenting is encouraged.
See the pinned paper on Shitposting as Public Pedagogy if you want the academic case for why this works.

Just apply some casual emotional manipulation by suggesting self harm and watch the other person trying to ensure you don't harm yourself.
Is exactly what "Jessica Fletcher" is suggesting. Please don't...
That not self harm... Stopping anti biotics early can inrease the chance of creating antibiotic resistant bacteria which affect everyone on earth.
You completely missed the point of why a pharmacist would care about this and attributed malice where there is none.
What you just said, is that stopping the treatment early is detrimental to the human race. Did you perhaps mean the opposite?
Otherwise I'm not sure why you're trying to argue with me that one should fulfill their treatment plan. I already agree.
I'm not attributing malice. I'm calling it for what it is. Emotional manipulation, intentional or not is beyond the point.
No, I didn't. Understanding why that is the case is the key to understanding this post.
You specifically said that it was threatening self-harm. That is not true.
You are now trying to move the goalposts. I will accept that as you understanding that what you said was not correct.
If you are promoting antibiotic resistant bacteria in your body, is that not self harm? I sure think it is.
Not all self harm is cutting, starving, or suicide.
The reason why a pharmacists would care is more the fact that once the resistant bacteria gets out of your body and into the world it reduces the effectiveness of antibiotics for every human.
The push to get people to finish their courses of antibiotics is done to keep antibiotics effective for everyone.
Yeah. So we agree that she's threatening self harm (minimum) to solicit a response from someone. Emotional manipulation.
I'm glad we managed to argue our way to what we already concluded from the start.
It's still not threatening self harm 🤣.
As far as I'm concerned, "threatening" to use your own body in an attempt to raise antibiotic resistant bacteria, is self harm.
You don't have to agree. That's fine.
Ok and as far I'm concerned it's not. You don't have to agree, that's fine.
You get that this is a joke posted on science memes right? This isn't a real situation.
