Newly released files show how Maria Farmer, who worked for Mr. Epstein in the 1990s, had urged the F.B.I. to investigate him. The case went nowhere for years.

This is not reddit and when you make these kinds of insinuations you only ever wind up sounding like a conspiracist or a dolt (perhaps both).

You'll find a large majority of Lemmy instances are pretty critical of the US Democrattic party and rightly so.

You’ll find a large majority of Lemmy instances are pretty critical of the US Democrattic party and rightly so.

I have not found that to be the case. Say anything less than worshipful of the genocide wing that runs the party and you'll get pushback. Try it for the very first time.

What the actual fuck are you talking about?

By which I mean your sweeping, obviously inaccurate claims about the userbase, not the genocide, which is definitely happening, happened under the previous administration too, and is extremely fucked up, and likely contributed to the fascists getting elected given how abysmally the DNC handled the entire situation?

[-] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

You have a lot more issue with my saying that lemmy makes excuses for democrats than you do about the straight up lie that no democrat has ever appointed an FBI chair. Because that lie is there to excuse bad behavior of democrats.

not the genocide, which is definitely happening, happened under the previous administration too, and is extremely fucked up, and likely contributed to the fascists getting elected given how abysmally the DNC handled the entire situation?

The prevailing consensus on lemmy is that the democrats did nothing wrong at all and the mean old voters denied them the election.

[-] Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip 9 points 3 months ago

You're literally in a thread full of people criticized ng Democrats and claiming it never happens. Why do you like to delude yourself?

[-] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

I'm saying that lemmy has a lot of people who make excuses for democrats no matter what they do, as a response to some preposterous bullshit about democrats never appointing an FBI chair. Misinformation that no one seems to have much of a problem with and that has like 80 upvotes despite being an outright lie.

[-] mriormro@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 months ago

And we're arguing against your thesis. Most all Lemmy communities are, at the very least, highly sympathetic towards leftists and somewhat hostile towards neoliberals.

Most all Lemmy communities are, at the very least, highly sympathetic towards leftists and somewhat hostile towards neoliberals.

And repeatedly ignoring the glaring example of someone making shit up to excuse the clinton administration's negligence about clinton's buddy epstein.

There's always someone on lemmy to make excuses for the worst shit democrats do. Always.

[-] mriormro@lemmy.zip 4 points 3 months ago

And repeatedly ignoring the glaring example of someone making shit up to excuse the clinton administration's negligence about clinton's buddy epstein.

I've never commented on that person playing into and broadcasting obvious dem\neolib propaganda but I agree with you that they're either deeply mistaken or, worse, lying.

There's always someone on lemmy to make excuses for the worst shit democrats do. Always.

Of course there is. There's people on Lemmy making excuses for literal fucking Nazi's. What's your point? That Lemmy contains manifold people\opinions? Oh no....

[-] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

I’ve never commented on that person playing into and broadcasting obvious dem\neolib propaganda but I agree with you that they’re either deeply mistaken or, worse, lying.

Congratulations on admitting that their excuse exists at all and wasn't factually correct. After significant prompting.

Of course there is. There’s people on Lemmy making excuses for literal fucking Nazi’s. What’s your point?

That it happens too often and in favor of too much reprehensible shit.

[-] Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 months ago

You said the consensus, not just a lot of people. You're moving goalposts now that you've been called out.

How's that for fact checking

[-] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Can't even rephrase something without the people who support dishonesty to protect democrats from criticism nitpicking.

[-] Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 months ago

I'm not one of those people, so I'm not sure who you're talking about.

[-] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

I'm talking about you particularly in this case. If democrats look bad, you look for excuses and they don't have to be true.

[-] Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 months ago

Oh, I know that's what you're trying to paint me as, but given that's not how I operate, your attempts to distract from your disinformation campaign with this shift to ad hominem disinfo is pretty laughably transparent

[-] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

your attempts to distract from your disinformation campaign

It's not disinformation to correctly say that democrats have appointed FBI directors. Even if that makes centrists look bad.

[-] Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 months ago

I never said it was. And given that you obvit can't seem to follow the conversation you're participating in, I'm done.

[-] hatorade@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Disinfo is when you make statements that are backed up by reality, Google, and wikipedia.

[-] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Disinfo is anything centrists don't want to hear. Shit like "don't make shit up just because your politician looks bad" or "genocide is wrong even when democratic politicians enable it."

[-] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 6 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Sounds like you may have been banned from communities that are expressing more nuanced opinions. Perhaps because of your fairly obviously dogmatic stance (not on genocide, but on how people are reacting to it)

[-] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Sounds like you may have been banned from communities that are expressing more nuanced opinions.

Sounds like you're gloating about pro-genocide echo chambers.

Lmao again what the actual fuck are you talking about

[-] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Sorry, I can't put it in any simpler terms.

[-] Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 months ago

For anyone with actual passable English reading comprehension skills, it absolutely does not.

[-] mriormro@lemmy.zip 6 points 3 months ago

Try it for the very first time.

This line just proves that you're not interested in a serious conversation. You'll find in life that if you listen before you talk you'll often learn quite a lot of useful things.

Take care.

[-] nulluser@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago

If you really believe this, then you have serious reading comprehension skills and/or only interpret everything in a way the reinforces your existing biases . From my experience, a majority of people here, myself included, would happily see both parties burn to the ground and replaced with a system that empowers We The People to choose real representatives.

[-] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Another person who has never heard the excuses because they've never given anyone occasion to employ them.
