Just like the media these days the community is labeled that way to get someone angry and engage with it, then through that engagement hopefully they can see the bigger picture. The vast majority of that community is not a "ban every car from every square inch of a city" extreme, we just want to see other methods of transportation get even a fraction of the attention and funds cars do. We also want to clear up misinformation and disinformation often spread through car/oil lobbies and governments, or in Canada's case a business lobby desperately trying to shoot itself in the foot for some short term profits.
