As a colourblind individual... What?

[-] SnotFlickerman 48 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

I'm colorblind as well so I fucked with the levels a bit in GIMP to make it visible.

You didn't put this on imgur! Now every Brit can tell what it says >:(

I mean, I have no idea what the intent of this is at all nor the contextual relationship between imgur saying "fuck the blind" or saying "fuck the imgur blind" and the lack of access to imgur in the UK. The connection between the two seems tenuous, so without explanation, I don't really have a valid reason to upload it to imgur anyway. Further, I hate using imgur. Catbox ftw.

Fair enough, I thought the "Fuck the colorblind" meme/image was somewhat known and changing it to "Fuck the imgur-blind" would make sense.

At least it will – presumably – make more sense for nearly every single British person that might see this in a couple of hours.

Though I do agree imgur sucks. I usually use img.bb when I need external image hosting, catbox occasionally blocks the IP address(es) of my VPN.

The fuck the colorblind meme is indeed well-known, but the phrase "fuck the imgur-blind" is complicated by the phrases "fucked blind" or "fuck me blind" and the notion that the connection between the word "imgur" and the word "blind" was not made explicit. Especially as they are on two different lines, making it almost seem more like we should "fuck imgur blind" which is how it read to me. The implied dash to connect the "imgur" to the "blind" just wasn't clear enough, but is now clear with an explanation.

I now see how posting this at 12 am UTC could lead to more colorblind people than British people stumbling across this meme first.

Yeah, maybe... I'm on the same timezone as London, though. Midnight isn't that late, I guess.
