In my family of origin, "bath" was somehow a general term that included taking a shower as one possible interpretation/implementation.
Did you also say "I go to the bathroom" instead of "to the toilet"?
I do. Absolutely. Saying that one has to go to a room always sounds better than saying that one, "has to use the toilet."
I was half joking. I think in most parts of the anglosphere it is common to go to the bathroom or restroom. I live outside the anglosphere where we are honest enough to call a thing by its real name.
"Real name" is kind of a funny concept in this scenario

This departed (or "abgefahren") here in Germany. If you're willing to adjust to that word and be honest about going to the toilet and you're neither from a Muslim country nor from Africa, you are very welcomed here!
Hahaha! While I'm neither from a Muslim nor African nation, I don't think I would prefer Germany. But thank you!! I would like to visit Germany at some point!
