I genuinely want to understand, is it actually illegal? The YouTuber says that the blockade isn't legal because UN says this that - but doesn't that apply to blockades done by other countries, not the country that 'owns' the territory?
I thought that Israel has the right to control entry inside their territorial (not Economic) waters the same way the U.S., E.U., and Canada can control entry of boats to their respective nations, no?
Those are Gaza territorial waters not israel.
and it is also a war crime to block aid from entering.
and aid entering will mess up their famine/genocide. which is also illegal.
this is like me torturing my neighbour, them claiming the right to kidnap the ambulances that go to help him because they were too close to my driveway so it's ok if I steal them and kidnap the paramedics, or even murder them if they are brown enough.
Gaza isn’t part of Israel and the waters off of it aren’t Israeli either.
Enforcing a naval blockade during armed conflict is not illegal.
(and I now await the downvotes....)
There was a blockade before hamas even took power. Israel is the occupier that maintain it's settler colonialism ideology so has no right to blockade a land forever
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the full naval blockade only started with the Hamas takeover.
The 2007 blockade was already devastating and illegal and you are fine with it. The more extreme blockade that is happening now is the reason why we have a famine right now in Gaza. Why are you keeping giving excuses to the occupier?
Would you have done the same apologism during Nat Turner revolt, would you have defended the settlers during indigenous people bloody revolts?
