Edit: also keep in mind that initial information in these situations can often be inaccurate. Trusted outlets have conflicting reports about whether a suspect has been detained.
Edit 2: the campus has officially stated they release the initial subject. Donald Trump has stated Charlie Kirk is dead.
Also, uh, if you have any doubt in your fortitude whatsoever, do not watch them.
Seriously.
For anyone who is curious but might not want to watch the video, here’s a description I found that a friend of mine who watched it says is accurate:
Description
he got shot in the neck by a high powered rifle and instantly litres of blood spewed out as he slumped over. He likely won't survive.Dude could have fell off his seat and onto a trauma operating table and still died.
"Likely won't survive"... My dude was dead within seconds.
He tensed up and stared off into the distance like he was gone instantly. Probably hit in the spinal.
Like an open spigot.
Yeah that matches what I saw
Like Kill Bill levels of blood squirting out?
Heavy leaking artery. Not as a bad as that Buffalo Sabres goalie in the 90s getting cut by a skate
Lol, that sounds like my first RE4 playthrough
RE4 Spoiler and potential gore
the chainsaw dude literally decapitating my man Leon, literally scarier than any other enemy in the game, solely for the gorey partYep yep yep this x100, if you have PTSD or just have never seen or cannot handle extreme gore, probably actually do not watch the clip.
This is an extremely legitimately trigger warning worthy video clip.
Ya, the video is grim. Seriously doubt he survived.
For anyone wondering: it's not gory as such, but it is significant in that way that tells our lizard brains something undeniably bad just happened.
I...what?
How else would you define 'gory'?
I am genuienly curious, you have a definition of gore....that is not fundamentally based in a human realizing something is very, very wrong with another living being?
Like... your blood is generally supposed to stay inside you. Blood is generally considered more gory the more of it there is.
I mean, the phrase "blood and gore" sort of lays out the distinction.
the blood doesn’t spray everywhere or all over him, but you can tell a lot gushed out quickly and goes out of view of the camera….
it’s really fast and mostly you notice his shirt moving suddenly
So to you, only blood spatter is gory?
Not actually just watching something like 1/3 to 1/2 his blood exit his body in maybe 3 seconds tops?
Like if a guy shat out all his intenstines, but ... they went off camera, neatly into a bucket... that wouldn't be gory?
Again I am just curious about this, different people are disgusted by different things, draw the lines in different ways I guess.
Agreed that people draw the lines in different ways. For me personally, the video is bloody, not gory. It'd be gory if there was viscera clearly visible.
Regardless, can see it being a traumatic image for some. But on the other hand, a lot of us are desensitized.
I don’t think people are used to seeing that volume of blood outside movies. That’s like, dead in minutes type bleeding
Finally someone who can shoot (sorry Tommy Crooks, you suck)
Yeah I felt the same. I actually can't watch gory films but this video wasn't hard to watch. But then I've experienced quite a lot of difficult situations irl so maybe I'm desensitised.
Agree. I watched it and really wish I hadn't.
You may want this page - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_of_Charlie_Kirk
There are already 23 references to news articles and social media posts on there last I checked
The timing of the shot is wild:
I wonder if the shooter was able to hear what was being said.
They were reported as being on a building 200 yards away, so unless those speakers were booming, I doubt it
180m is not thaat far considering the furthest attendees were probably like 50m away.
Yeah, but 200 yards to make a clean shot straight through his artery while he's under a tent is some sniper shit
when i see expert work in my field i have to admire it even when it's a crime. like, when i was in finance and a particularly creative fraud would make the news we'd all go to the break room and talk about the accused's chutzpah and take turns saying what we'd change to get away with it, and how we'd get caught in an audit (all but one of us worked at the IRS for a spell), and so on for about an hour. it was a great thought exercise, kept our brains active and helped keep us current with caselaw.
likewise, though grievous bodily harm was inflicted, that's a remarkable shot.
Probably fair to assume that the shooter was aiming for center of mass. A stationary person at 180m is pretty easy to hit in the chest, and someone with enough skill/confidence might have opted to aim for the head, but nobody is aiming specifically for the neck. A hit on the neck almost definitely means the shooter was aiming for something else and missed high (or low) by inches in a way that still hit the guy.
He likely missed. He was either aiming for center mass (most likely), or the head. In either case he was 8" high or low respectively from misjudging the distance.
My guess is it was likely a shot at center mass that went high. This was was no 3000m special forces sniper insanity.
Fair, but also I know for a fact I could never even get close. I'm not saying this was some insane record setting shot or anything, but 200 yards while he's under a tent and behind a crowd, it's a wonder he hit Kirk's bitch ass instead of someone in the crowd, and he landed it in a vital artery
not seeing shit on x, it's all over threads with uncensored videos
Trump himself is now saying Kirk is dead.
https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump
Why the Fuck does he Type like an Idiot?
Because he is an idiot
Too many Big Macs?
Terminal uberboomeritis?
Silver spoon he was born with in his mouth got jammed into his brain at a young age?
You Hit the Nail on the Head?
I like how every news outlet says "GRAPHIC WARNING", then proceeds to blur it anyways. Like... wtf is the point? Can't even find a link lol
I'd recommend avoiding it, you can probably get a decent idea from knowing he got hit in the carotid artery.
Already watched it. Meh. Final Destination movies are much more gore-y
Does anyone have a link? Not seeing one in this thread
Here (NSFW, shooting, blood etc)
Holy shit. That fucker isn't surviving that.
Edit: he's dead, obviously and officially.
It's honestly not as bad as I expected. The amount of blood reminds me of the historic Bud Dwyer video. -If i were to speculate i'd say it looks like Kirk had a very sudden and near total loss of blood pressure to his head when he was hit which leads me to think that he probably lost consciousnous before he knew what hit him.
I am not a medical professional. Nervous system was instantly affected and his body flung to the so callev teapot arms position. You are VERY unlikely to survive a shot like that under the BEST care in the world given that as we all can see, no amount of pressure on the wound can stop the blood loss. The last 5-6 seconds of your life are just a fade to black, pain is no longer a concept for your brain, you got quite literally unplugged and your body never knows what happened.
