This is a community in the spirit of "Am I The Asshole" where people can post their own bans from lemmy or reddit or whatever and get some feedback from others whether the ban was justified or not.
Sometimes one just wants to be able to challenge the arguments some mod made and this could be the place for that.
Posting Guidelines
All posts should follow this basic structure:
- Which mods/admins were being Power Tripping Bastards?
- What sanction did they impose (e.g. community ban, instance ban, removed comment)?
- Provide a screenshot of the relevant modlog entry (don’t de-obfuscate mod names).
- Provide a screenshot and explanation of the cause of the sanction (e.g. the post/comment that was removed, or got you banned).
- Explain why you think its unfair and how you would like the situation to be remedied.
Rules
- Post only about bans or other sanctions that you have received from a mod or admin.
- Don’t use private communications to prove your point. We can’t verify them and they can be faked easily.
- Don’t deobfuscate mod names from the modlog with admin powers.
- Don’t harass mods or brigade comms. Don’t word your posts in a way that would trigger such harassment and brigades.
- Do not downvote posts if you think they deserved it. Use the comment votes (see below) for that.
- You can post about power trippin’ in any social media, not just lemmy. Feel free to post about reddit or a forum etc.
- If you are the accused PTB, while you are welcome to respond, please do so within the relevant post.
Expect to receive feedback about your posts, they might even be negative.
Make sure you follow this instance's code of conduct. In other words we won't allow bellyaching about being sanctioned for hate speech or bigotry.

Some acronyms you might see.
- PTB - Power-Tripping Bastard: The commenter agrees with you this was a PTB mod.
- YDI - You Deserved It: The commenter thinks you deserved that mod action.
- YDM new - You Deserved More: The commenter thinks you got off too lightly.
- BPR - Bait-Provoked Reaction: That mod probably overreacted in charged situation, or due to being baited.
- CLM - Clueless Mod: The mod probably just doesn't understand how their software works.

Moderation is not a tool in your arsenal to out-escalate an interpersonal dispute. I always thought your actions were fairly reasonable in the past but this one is really not a good look. I would encourage you to take a break and reflect on this interaction.
Let me explain it like this... If you come at me with a shitty attitude, I have ZERO obligation to treat you with kindness and I absolutey will not. Again, don't like it, get fucked.
OTOH, many, many times people have PM'd me and said "Hey, I don't think this is right, can you look at it?" and I'll reverse it or politely explain why not.
For example, someone had a comment removed for "inciting domestic violence". It was an example of a loaded question, the whole "when did you stop beating your wife?" thing. So I restored it and went to the mod and explained "no, no, that's not an actual call for domestic abuse, it's literally an example of a dishonest question" with the supporting link.

What you don't seem to understand is that responding to negativity with negativity is not what makes this PTB. That's a fairly normal response. What makes this PTB is deciding to use your mod powers as a means to inflict negativity on people, inflicting punishment on people not because of the rules, but because you feel like it. You explicitly admitted to doing this: "Now I'm removing it just to spite you".
I responded politely once and they escalated, after that, it's fair fucking game.
No, it isn't. Exactly this mindset is why we call it "power-tripping" because you think the powers given to you to enforce rules are "fair fucking game" to use as a tool to inflict negativity.
Respond with negativity if you wish, but leave your mod powers out of it. Invoking mod powers to punish someone who hasn't broken the rules is definitionally abuse of power.

"PTB" has "power" in the name. One cannot be a "PTB" without having power over others, such as mod or admin rights.

It's absolutely hilarious that you're trying to justify your behavior by describing my modlog, which summarizes a total of four encounters over more than two years, as "as long as your arm."
It's also notably pathetic, and wickedly ironic, since one of those encounters was with a mod who seemed to behave such as yourself, in a particular event involving an incredibly hostile vegan calling everyone cow-fucking rapists. Yeah, apparently that's okay, but asking them if they're a false flag because of how absolutely unhelpful that behavior is towards changing people's minds constitutes incivility.

Yeah, not how it works. You know what it's called when police, government officials, and people with actual power behave like this? A crime. You literally just described abuse of power, the exact thing this community is designed to draw attention to.

First off, yes, I have multiple accounts. Four, in fact. If you paid attention, you would realize that two of those were on instances that shut down. But no, you have to try and imply that I burned accounts and moved on because of all my bans or whatever. A clear sign of someone with a quality argument founded in facts, right?
Let's go on and look at those "for cause" removals and bans, shall we?
I called someone out for being a bigot in a thread about Nexus Mods removing hateful mods (a look at your future?). The entire comment chain was blanket removed.
I received a three day ban from Lemmyshitpost almost two years ago for "incivility." Amongst my removed comments were maybe two I would admit we're uncivil. Otherwise, they were a comment about a sudden influx of a specific type of comment and voting being similar to nonewnormal brigades from back on Reddit, asking a user of their antagonistic behavior is really intended to influence people, and calling them out for trolling when they informed me they were just there to bitch. I was banned with zero warning, and as far as I can tell, only people on one side of the argument got these blanket removals. Very "for cause," huh?
That's the entirety of my first account and an entire year on the service. Two events total. After the shutdown of LemmyOnline, I moved on to FMHY. I noticed you didn't link that one. Maybe it's because there were no mod actions there? Well, that doesn't fit your narrative, so let's ignore it.
Let's move on to this account, shall we?
An argument about the privacy of people in dangerous situations that became mildly uncivil. I was of the position that a service collecting phone numbers and releasing them to the police could endanger people already in dangerous situations. Fuck me, right? I'm so evil. The entire thread was removed, not just my comments.
I was banned from Lefty Memes for calling out the harmful behavior of a certain mod who was recently also in this community. In the recent instance, another mod stepped in and agreed that, yes, that particular mod has overstepped. I'm proud of that one. The only major mod action I've ever had, and it was for a good reason.
Four months ago, I had two comments removed. Once again, these comments were made standing against transphobia and bigotry, as opposed to your narrative. This removal wasn't even an action against me, the bigot made an off-ropic thread which got removed.
Two months ago, I had a comment removed where I responded to someone parroting MAGA talking point quite rudely. I made some personal attacks that are about half as bad as the ones you've made in this thread. The removal message was simple, "attack the argument, not the person." I took the advice and made a new comment which is still up.
That's it. That's everything. You sit here, acting like anyone who's ever had a single mod action against them is a hateful bigot transphobe, and you cite the smallest matters, even one that prove the exact opposite, as if they're all you need. You don't even understand your own argument, but you keep making it.
To you, bigotry is clearly nothing but a weapon. Something you can wield against anyone who disagrees with you, screeching "Bigot! Bigot!" any time someone dares to call you out on your bullshit. It doesn't matter to you. None of it. Bigotry, transphobia , homophobia, it's all just a flimsy justification for your behavior to you.

I went and read @Ganbat@lemmy.dbzer0.com's modlogs and there is not a single incident of racism, homophobia or transphobia, nor any calls for violence or encouraging suicide. It is all either incivility, or being off-topic. In fact, some of what was removed (which was only done for being off-topic) was Directly Defending Trans Women. So why don't you sit your cis, white, male ass the fluff down and stop trying to weaponise violence against me and my community as a bludgeon against people You Don't Like!
