Kinda weird Death doesn’t know who’s arriving ahead of time; I wouldn’t think they’d be surprised, given the nature of what they do.
“AH FUCK IT’S YOU. MY BAD HOMIE, I WAS REALLY EXPECTING SOMEONE ELSE WHO’S REALLY CLOSE TO KICKING— OH FUCK YEAH, THAT’S THEM! BRB, MAKE YOURSELF AT HELL!”
I mean, usually the job of Death is to guide the soul to the afterlife once it's already detached from the body. They would probably be able to predict deaths from old age or disease, but dying in battle is usually pretty sudden.
