Example:
- Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
- No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

liberalism is that political philosophy which combines capitalist economics with democratic election based governance. and yes, capitalists are the enemy, good job!
Doesn't sound like Cuomo is very in favor of democratic election based governance, that's kind of literally 100% of the point of why he's even in the news still
And yes, lumping anyone who is "enemy" into the same category and using catchy labels for them and using labels for one "enemy" camp to refer to people who are in a totally different camp, because what's the difference the important thing is we found an enemy, is exactly the thinking I am calling out. Good job providing a pretty good example of it
split whatever hairs you think will help you sleep at night, lib.
Wait, why am I a lib now? You know me, you know my viewpoint? Or you just start deciding anyone who disagrees with you in any way, must be a liberal otherwise they wouldn't be disagreeing with you?
It's actually remarkable how well this propaganda framework works. It's actually exactly the same as a lot of the MAGA structure, where they declare media as "biased" or people as "Marxist." It doesn't matter whether it's actually true. It's just a little self-sustaining structure, a reason to dismiss anyone who disagrees with them in any way, and they don't need to think any more about it once that box has been ticked.
I've actually noticed this thought process in a lot of Lemmy people. That little fumble where you decided Cuomo was a liberal might seem like kind of a trivial misstatement or something, but it's actually hugely telling about how your thought processes are working. I would really encourage you to reflect on it.
i'm sure you have an argument, i'm just not interested in masturbatory hair splitting and mental gymnastics anymore. but thanks for making assumptions about me, my thought process, and my stances, while lambasting me for doing the same when you've offered no clear position of your own except "lol u dum" dressed up in flowery language.
Good to hear! I'd recommend letting go of them, yes. Good job!
