Many of the cruise-friendly Caribbean countries have camouflage as their military uniform and so it's illegal to wear it in these countries.

I am aware of the chicanery cruise lines get up to, as well as the depravity that is commonplace on many American cruise lines. Oh, and emissions.

Apart from that, why should I avoid them?

What more reasons do you need lmao.

Also all of the shit goes into the water iirc

Any ship built in the last ten years has onboard waste processing facilities and water desalination plants. The only thing that goes back into the ocean is purified graywater, and ash. Plastics are stowed until they return to land.

The way the ships are built was drastically changed in the last decade because of the big lawsuits that Carnival got smacked within 2016 and 2019. There’s some pretty neat videos on YouTube about how Disney’s ships handle trash and human waste. It’s sorted better than most metropolitan waste companies.

My phone is borked and i didn't reread, sorry. I meant that all of the piss and shit just goes in to the water

Depravity? Like moral depravity? Like swinger cruises or concert cruises with lots of drugs? Or just indulgence in general and a lack of care on environmental and local economic impacts?

My point was regarding the former, but the latter certainly would be an issue for me too.

Most people go on vacations for the wrong reasons, if you ask me. There’s an opportunity to experience an entirely different culture and learn about how other people live, but a lot of people waste their time at a resort.

They suck.

Also explosive diarrhea

[-] Scolding7300@lemmy.world 7 points 4 days ago

Pretty sure explosive diarrhoea is the opposite of sucking
