The Department of Homeland Security is scrapping age limits for new Immigration and Customs Enforcement recruits as it ramps up hiring with a major funding boost from Congress.

Previously, applicants had to be at least 21 and no older than 37 or 40, depending on the role within the agency tasked with locating, arresting and detaining noncitizens lacking legal status. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem told Fox & Friends that applicants as young as 18 could now be "trained and ready."

I had heard they were having trouble recruiting. Hopefully this is a further sign of that.

Amazing how even providing $50k in signing bonuses, paying up to six figures, "enhanced" benefits (whatever that means), and waiving student loans in this economy STILL isn't enough for them to find people.

A lot of candidates probably balk at the thought of becoming SS-like goons because ya know, morals...

And even those without any morals probably reckon Trump and his fascist henchmen won't always be there, and then they'll be held accountable for what they did during the Trump regime.

That's also why ICE wants to hire teenagers: kids often don't think things through and are more easily manipulated.

That's why military recruiters target highschools.

And lie to the high schoolers. Get everything in writing kids, don't believe a word they say.
