How do we know this isn't what gave him the fetish?
I think if a 29 year-old Salma Hayek stuck her toes in my mouth and poured tequila down them, I'd be into feet by now as well.
Yeah probably when he wrote the script and imagined himself in the role he was probably just thinking of the logistics of getting the thirsty character some drink instead of thinking how hot it would accidentally end up being.
to be fair, without having ever had a foot fetish, in that particular scene, I'd have been a willing participant - you could argue that the tequila did some disinfecting, too :D
