Segregation is schools never went away (partly due to Biden breaking with the party to oppose desegregation), northern areas set up school districts based on the race of the neighborhoods, made easy by redlining, and private schools in the south.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/School_segregation_in_the_United_States#Segregation_since_the_1960s
yes, private schools were around. And now with the defunding of the DOE its about to become the norm. Well done sir, you've literally just explained what I said but made it sound like it was normal. Its not.
applause please for alcoholicorn! They somehow think biden is the reason why the department of education is being dismantled! what a genius this guy is!
Well, he didn't exactly help, did he?
Yeah, if only he wasn't obstructed like Obama was at every turn by republicans, then blamed for 'doing nothing'
the same trick every time. gerrymandering, no nothing republicans standing in the way of progress and tricking people like you into thinking its the democrats faults. Even when they enact policies that they came up with. (tell me the name of the conservative who filibustered his own bill when obama approved it. you wont, because you are a shill)
democrats had a majority. They chose not to use it. They chose to break their promises. You only support biden because he sold weapons to netanyahu for you.
for how long, crab? And why was the ACA enacted then? Was that the dems choosing not to use anything?
maybe this is why the dems never enact anything, because when they do americans flip out and start things like the Tea party.
I was talking about the majority that democrats didn't use during the first half of the biden administration. You know this, but since you've decided to pivot, let's talk about the ACA. The original version had a public option and no individual mandate. It was a heritage foundation policy, and that was before democrats nerfed it. Centrists have been coasting on a neutered heritage foundation policy for 15 years now.
We gave democrats the house, the senate, and the presidency in 2020. They chose not to use it. Now pretend I'm talking about something else. You know better, but that won't stop you.
who filibustered their own law, crab?
This will be the second time you've attempted to change the subject in as many comments.
But since you brought up the filibuster, why haven't democrats used it since trump took office?
its a simple question. who filibustered their own law?
One that you brought up because you don't want to talk about the ACA anymore for some reason. Keep changing the subject in defense of the party that sells your favorite person weapons for your favorite activity.
who was that one that I brought up, why can't you mention his name? Do you even know what you are talking about?
At this point, I don't know what you're talking about. You just seem determined to change the subject.
the original topic was mitch mconnell filibustering his own bill when obama approved it. because they are not a real political party, just obstructionists who funnel money to rich people. (and support racism such as things like 'private schools' IE segregation.)
that was the point, learn your history my guy before you start blathering.
This is a lie. It was not the "original topic" and anyone who can scroll up can confirm this. You're the one who keeps trying to talk about mcconnell (I have to actually write his name because otherwise you will immediately pretend I'm talking about someone else) in a thread that isn't about him.
No its a original topic that you refuse to acknowledge. Which is you saying dems do nothing and me saying they (conservatives) only obstruct and enrich millionaires and racists, even against their own bills.
Why did Mitch filibuster his own bill, crab? or do you want me to walk you through it like a child again?
Yeah, it really sucks when people don't want to change the subject when you do.
Yeah, republicans do that. We don't have to keep making it easy for them. Yet we keep the filibuster around because republicans use it to block progressive legislation, and centrists like being able to point to republicans and be like "It's their fault!" When all it would take to pass anything democrats want is 50 votes to kill the filibuster for good. But they know they have people who will try endlessly to pivot to mcconnell in order to defend democrats' inaction.
I don't know. Why do you keep trying to change the subject to the guy who blocks the things you don't want passed for you?
You do a lot of things like a child.
or when the subject evolves into something you don't like, apparently.
Why did Mitch fillibuster his own bill, crab? Its a simple answer, crab. Give me the formula to the krabby patty crabs!
that last part was in jest, and I apologize, but you are a joke. so it fits.
Well, you've just admitted to trolling. Goodbye, pro-genocide troll.
goodbye, pretender. I wish you luck in your endeavors to worsen democracy because you don't like women and democrats.
You seems to be very aware of american politics for an arab / jewish person. Wouldn't you be american?
You never put a foot in the middle east did ya. Or maybe on holiday? Deployment?
I used to work tourism (to a muslim country) so this is hilarious to me.
Hey want to talk about how its like to be raised as an american who has both feet in the playing fields?
Yeah exactly you went there on holiday. Fkn yank
no I took people there on holiday. for money. its called a job. one day you will have one.
It is normal, it always has been, ask 10 white and a few black people from different areas how many black people were in their school. Or just read the wikipedia article.
i live in california, this may surprise you but a large percentage was asian at my schools.
Its not normal to have private schools everywhere and to defund public schools. The only people pushing this are folks who wish to keep poor people (minorities) away from theirs. Since they won't be able to afford them.
I didn't ask about Asians. How many black people went to your high-school?
It literally is, it started with the desegregation effort, and any place with too mixed of a black and Latino population for public schools to be along racial lines has had private schools for the last half century.
not as many as asian students. another minority class, oh wait you don't count them as minorities do you?
literally "Private schools in the US, particularly those with religious affiliations, often exhibit higher levels of racial segregation compared " google it. pretend its normal. Its hilarious This will become the norm because of people like you. Thanks.
It is the norm! The private schools have been built everywhere that has a mixed population 50 years ago. Its why 5% of California is black, but there was like 3 black kids at your school, this is a common experience across the country. Racist housing and education policy has bipartisan support.
Remember that clip of Biden going "I dont want my kids growing up in a "racial jungle"? The policies that would have let more black kids go to your school was what he was opposing.
google private schools and segregation. tell me the first thing that shows up, alky boy.
i dare you, copy paste it then read it.
Oh, I see what youre failing to understand, the private schools were built for the purpose of enabling segregation where they couldnt just draw school district lines accordingly line in california. I assumed that was obvious from the context.
you have failed to copy and paste the first sentence that shows up when you google private schools and segregation
i assumed this would be super easy. here ya go "Private schools in the US exhibit higher levels of racial segregation compared to public schools, with some even being established as "segregation academies" to maintain racial separation. These schools, particularly in the South, were often founded in response to desegregation efforts in public schools."
so why are we de-funding public schools, alky?
Read my post and try again. We can continue when you demonstrate you're caught up.
lets catch up with this first
why are we de-funding public schools, alky?
Defending public schools was going on long before Trump, the last public school in New Orleans closed in 2014. In areas with largely segregated populations, it takes a different appearance; they make a mostly black district, excluding any wealthy areas and businesses that would contribute taxes, and then you dont have to defund when theres no funds to start with, and those few funds go to a police department that hires from outside the district. See Furgison.
The US never meaningfully desegregated.
So we are in agreement then? Trump defunding public schools (eradicating the department of education) is so they can finally 'lawfully' segregate us even more?
was there a point to you arguing against me?
The point is that Trump's education policy is not unique or new, and the republicans don't have a monopoly on racism; structural racism in education has a bipartisan consensus.
The fact that you attribute it to Trump tells me you either didn't know the history or you dont actually care beyond its utility as hostile evidence against the red team and will support the dems in 4 years when they promote policies with the same end effect in 2-4 years?
Just like with ICE, Bush created it, instead of defunding it, Obama built the cages, but libs only cared when Trump was using them, and there was total silence when Biden expanded them, and now libs pretend to care again.
what do you think the department of education does, alky?
