What is the state of LGBTQ+ rights in India? What’s it like to be queer there? I just realized I know shocking little about this.

AFAIK : Culturally trash, legally improving, as can be seen here.

Just a guess, but probably not the best. Probably something similar to Bulgaria. Hopefully I'm wrong. Edit: Gay people are banned from the military, couples can't get married, civil unions aren't recognized, couples can't adopt, but homosexuality has been legal since 2018, and a 3rd gender is recognized. So, not the best for the LGB, but could be worse for the T. Not great for anyone though.
