This is what you voted for protest-non-voters.

[-] Crikeste@lemm.ee 10 points 3 weeks ago

Oh sure, my blue county would have certainly flipped the entire rest of the red state with my singular vote. If only Democrats had inspired me to believe in them, you wouldn’t have me as your scapegoat, even though not a single thing would change.

[-] someguy3@lemmy.world 20 points 3 weeks ago

inspired

Thank you for admitting there was no logic. You want your feelings pandered to.

[-] 3abas@lemm.ee 10 points 3 weeks ago

Willingly. We collectively deserve it.

You're disgusting, you're okay with genocide as long as you get your comforts. We protested evil then, and we protest evil now. You only protest inconvenience.

[-] Spookyghost@sh.itjust.works 55 points 3 weeks ago

You can stop parroting propaganda now, the elections over.

That genocide you are referring to has only gotten worse under this regime, not sure why you are patting yourself on the back so hard for retaining your moral high ground while fucking over our nation too.

Kinda fuck you honestly.

[-] TacoSocks@infosec.pub 44 points 3 weeks ago

You didn't protest evil, you stepped aside and said, "I'm ok if the world gets more evil". Your "protest" did nothing to stop or reduce the genocide, it's gotten worse. You've made it less safe for people who actually want to protest the genocide. Your only action was that you feel moral superiority in your own mind.

[-] theangryseal@lemmy.world 27 points 3 weeks ago

Yep. Now protesters are being deported. I believe that everyone who sat this out over that issue has blood on their hands and I don’t care if it hurts their feelings to hear it.

We went from having a chance to having no chance.

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cwy0ngd11yzo.amp

Their inaction isn’t entirely the reason, but a lot more people are going to be suffering than otherwise would have, all around the world.

The cuts to medical aid around the world, children going hungry, etc. Who knows, we might even get another pandemic. Wouldn’t that be rad?!

And you’re goddamn right. They ate propaganda and now get to feel good about doing nothing in their own minds.

[-] valkyrieangela 33 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

You are not the fucking moral high ground. If this were a trolley problem, you've elected to kill five people instead of one. Even if the American left wasn't going to move on the issue, the situation would not have been nearly as genocidal. For Ukraine, for Trans and GNC, for the homeless.

Absolutely, unequivocally, and without remorse: Go fuck yourself with a rusty crowbar.

[-] 3abas@lemm.ee 2 points 3 weeks ago

If this were a trolley problem, you've elected to kill five people instead of one

Correct. The problem is that you're not hearing the setup, or you don't care, which solidifies my decision.

The trolley was coming to kill a million of our children. There were two other tracks, one was empty, and one just took an extra loop to hit you first.

And you monsters simply pulled the brakes off and ripped the third completely empty track off so the trolley had no chance of missing anyone. So I made sure it takes you too.

There's no moral high ground, I said we collectively deserve it, I accept my punishment for living in and supporting the genocidal empire. You deserve it for your apathy.

Either way, at least when the US empire collapses when Trump is done with it, it'll stop genociding nations and getting stupid responses like yours.

[-] valkyrieangela 2 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Scum like you makes this world a darker place because you use "the children" as an excuse to justify your immorality. If you wanted to kill yourself, you could have done it without taking the lives of so many innocents. Instead not only are you the proxy perpetrator of a different genocide, you've simply allowed the world to burn because of your hatred. You can't modify the trolley problem by just saying "uhhh there's ackshually three tracks and one is on a loop so fuck you" or come at me with "but you didn't hear the setup!!". There is no other setup you fucking buffoon. There was a simple binary choice and you chose wrong. You are a moron, through and through. You are the kind of person that makes me realize that actual democracy may have been a mistake, because idiots don't deserve to make decisions. WE don't "collectively" deserve shit because there is no WE. May your precious God have mercy on your soul in the next life, you dishonourable bastard.

[-] buddascrayon@lemmy.world 24 points 3 weeks ago

Oh yeah, you really helped stop the genocide. How many thousands did Israel murder this week because there's literally no one in the White House or congress even remotely trying to stop them?

[-] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 14 points 3 weeks ago

you’re okay with genocide

Blah blah blah.

Move on to the next boring catchphrase please. This is getting old.

Herp derp, I care more about two nations continuing an everlasting religious conflict on the other side of the planet than fascism in my own country.

We get it. You're dumb. You don't need to keep proving it to us.

[-] 3abas@lemm.ee 1 points 3 weeks ago
[-] Olgratin_Magmatoe@slrpnk.net 11 points 3 weeks ago

Preventing people from starving and dying in the streets isn't comforts.

[-] nthavoc@lemmy.today 11 points 3 weeks ago

I will never, ever understand that logic. You had a choice, you made the wrong decisions, now own it. The more you justify saying that somehow orange turd mcgee was a better option makes you look like such a damn fool. And yes you said it by your action of "protest voting". You had infinitely more opportunities to protest and affect change if Kamela was elected. Now all of your opportunities are actively being removed and the people you wanted to save are going to be exiled for a new golf course because a lot of you of "moral high ground" contributed to this bleak future. Good job.

[-] someguy3@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

I will never, ever understand that logic.

That's because there was no logic. Just emotions.

[-] nickwitha_k@lemmy.sdf.org 6 points 3 weeks ago

You had a choice, you made the wrong decisions, now own it.

The pro-genocide protest (non-)voters have bought into the propaganda so thoroughly that I'm doubting that they'll accept responsibility even on their deathbeds at this point. They didn't give a shit about anyone or anything but performative actions to stroke their own egos and telling themselves that they are morally superior. There was one the other day who even admitted that they put their own SO's life at risk but still see no fault in their actions and blame dems and strategic voters for their own choice to support making genocide worse.

[-] freddydunningkruger@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago

Whether you believe in the ends justifying the means or the means justifying the end.. the world you helped create was granting power to evil, putting evil in charge.

You straight up chose the side of evil. Congrats on being on the wrong side of history.

[-] dickalan@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

Suck it up, honey, this is partially your fault. If you didn’t vote for Kamala, you can’t outspin this, Truth Hurts.

[-] malin@thelemmy.club 8 points 3 weeks ago

This is what nominating the lesser-evil got us.

[-] TheDoozer@lemmy.world 12 points 3 weeks ago

As a party, the Dems suck. Absolutely. And in the long-term, as an opposition party, they are not great.

That being said, are the non-voters and protest non-voters children? The nonsense I'm reading about non-voters not being "inspired" or not being "captured" by Democrats to convince them to vote against fascism sounds like a description of a salesman trying to sell products, not the either-or choice being given to every adult American, which is, as a citizen, their own goddamn responsibility to be party to.

A non-vote is still a vote. You don't absolve yourself of the outcome by choosing not to participate, because if you can vote, you're already participating.

There were three real options this past election: MAGA, Dems, and I-don't-care-they're-equally-bad. So yes, not voting when fascists win means you supported fascism.

Obviously that does not mean non-voters are solely to blame. Republicans accepted fascists, those that voted R chose fascists, Dems suck as a party, and non-voters sat back and allowed fascists to take power. On the list, non-voters are the least bad, certainly, but they still bear responsibility.

[-] malin@thelemmy.club 7 points 3 weeks ago

You still don't understand.

Arguing with me isn't going to change anything. You should be arguing with the people that nominate establishment candidates.

Go ahead, blame me all you want; I genuinely don't care. If you want me to get out and vote, then your neo-liberal, lesser-evil buddies need to be the ones who 'fall in line.'

Every effort you spend in trying to get me to support establishment candidates is futile.

[-] someguy3@lemmy.world 10 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Lol this is not the flex that you think it is. This just shows the Dems that the left voter will never vote. So there is no reason to cater to them. And history plays this out, every time the Dems rely on the left voter, they don't show up. At this point you'd be an absolute fool to cater to or rely on the left. The real futility here is ever thinking the left will ever show up, so what's the point.

So pat yourself on the back on helping to move the overton window to the right. Yes you. Every single time you protest no vote.

Ok I really have to bow out of talking to you. Like you said it's futile. PS look up what neoliberal means.

[-] malin@thelemmy.club 6 points 3 weeks ago

This just shows the Dems that the left voter will never vote.

Sorry, I stopped reading after this. You're clueless.

Gonna ignore you now. Have fun wasting your efforts doing the same thing expecting different results.

[-] dickalan@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

Bro, shut up, you’re obviously a Trump supporter trying to disguise yourself if some sort of centrist get out of here

[-] malin@thelemmy.club 4 points 3 weeks ago
[-] dickalan@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

You’re right😩😩😩

[-] someguy3@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Ah the 'lesser evil' nonsense to make it sound like "b b b b b both sides same!"

[-] malin@thelemmy.club 7 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Neo-liberals become conservatives when their wealth is threatened.

It's a two-pronged strategy that you're supporting right now.

If more of you people directed your grievances towards the greedy scumbags that keep nominating establishment candidates, then we wouldn't have this issue.

I don't expect you to do that, though.

[-] someguy3@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Followed up by demonstrating you don't know what neoliberal means. Ciao.

Seeing as this is a reply to OP (a top comment), your reply makes zero sense. It literally can't be moving the goalposts. Just shows how you're squirming to get out of the repercussions of protest non voting. Which ironically is exactly the thought process that got you into protest non voting in the first place.

You can keep doing gymnastics. Ciao.
