The Joe Biden legacy is literal genocide. What kind of insane person do you have to be to not be happy about this? This is objectively awesome.

[-] kipo@lemm.ee 25 points 1 year ago

You don’t have to be insane to not be happy about this. I believe in ‘harm reduction’, which is to say: If joe biden were still president, i would probably not be upset if some medical condition removed him from the presidency, because then he could no longer actively do harm from his position of power.

But now? He has almost no active power or influence over anything. His suffering doesn’t benefit me or reverse any previous harms he’s caused.

[-] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

Yeah so? Does him not having power absolve him of his previous crimes? He had not even expressed any regret for them.

[-] TheBeege@lemmy.world 17 points 1 year ago

What is the purpose of punishment? To reform behavior? Or to make you feel better?

You can claim justice, but in this case, that's just making you feel better. You want to hurt someone because they hurt others. That's how we've had never-ending wars. We as a species need to grow past this

[-] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago

Do you think the Nuremberg trials were bad too?

Using "pacisim" to excuse a genocidal maniac who has expressed zero regret for his actions. What a joke. I am glad Hitler died and I am glad Joe Biden is dying.

The world will grow past these war criminals and their genocide mindset.

Isn't every American presidents legacy genocide? Why is it so much more front and center for biden?

[-] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 18 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Biden was part of all of the warmongering as well. He was a primary pusher for the Iraq invasion. Even before his presidency Biden was a massive piece of shit.

But during his presidency he facilitated a straight clear genocide. Anyone empathizing with Biden is an awful person.

If Bush gets cancer tomorrow I am cheering too.

[-] Doorbook@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago

“Have some humanity” said by the person who is okay with democrat committing genocide.

[-] Soulg@ani.social 14 points 1 year ago

It's very telling how you people equate not wanting to cheer for an old man dying of cancer with approving of genocide.

[-] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Person directly responsible for a genocide in a concentration camp = "old man".

I interpret your comment as one of the most extreme forms of racism and basically admitting that you do not see Palestinians as human.

Because if you did you would not feel a shred of empathy for the people responsible for their suffering.

[-] Doorbook@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

This like if someone says "if I go back in time I will kill baby Hitler" then they respond to you " you are a baby killer"

[-] Doorbook@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

No there is a different between " I don't want to cheer for Biden having cancer" and " don't cheer for Biden having cancer" the second statement is approving genocide, the first is not.

[-] catloaf@lemm.ee 10 points 1 year ago

That's the neat part, it is! It's front and center for Biden because it's here and now, and more people have a personal connection to Israel and Palestine than other genocides.
