And then the baby doesn't have a mother for its entire life if it lives.

And if the grandparents don't keep them, for any reason it becomes a massive tax burden on us for at minimum 18 years, entire life if the brain fluid makes them bedridden

Newkirk told WXIA that doctors told the family that the fetus has fluid on the brain and that they’re concerned about his health. “She’s pregnant with my grandson. But he may be blind, may not be able to walk, may not survive once he’s born,” Newkirk said. She has not said whether the family wants Smith removed from life support.

They do? Even though the state is forcing it?

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/family-forced-keep-brain-dead-pregnant-woman-alive-rcna207002 at the end of this NBC article it states the family is responsible for life support even though they have no say in the matter. It's practically lose-lose for them

What happens if they just... don't pay?

[-] XnxCuX@lemmy.world 2 points 23 hours ago

Collections... sort of. You mostly just have to pay off the physicians and ignore the rest forever. #murica

Probably garnished wages? Idk; that’s insane, and moreover, it’s obviously insane, and I’m sure it would incite some people to explore extra-legal measures.

Send more blue shells.
