Please explain to me, why why would anyone want to join the us military?
The military is a jobs program that many people are eligible for, who might not be able to get work elsewhere. There's a reason that the military has many lower income and minority members, and why paying for a college education is such an important part of the compensation. If you have better options you should take those, but many don't.
The idea that the US has a volunteer military is mostly propaganda. This country does a lot economic coercion to drive recruitment.
Damn, having the military be a substitute to social security is fucked.
