Many of the best DS games are built around the hardware in ways that make it difficult to get the full experience from trying to emulate.

There’s hardware made to emulate that too, should you go that route. Not free though.

Well, he's 4 so he doesn't really care about Fortnite , Minecraft or Roblox yet. Also the tiny retro handheld console I have is easier on his little hands.
