Hello! I’m Québécois and as such happily defy all Canadian obligations. The USA gave the elections to the liberals by threatening Canada’s sovereignty. This is because the Conservatives favour the prairies, where there is a strong pro USA sentiment. Alberta’s PM Danielle Smith reminded everybody of that by conniving at Mar-a-Lago while the other provinces were trying hard to show a united front. In the meanwhile Conservative Leader Poilievre took forever to address the issue since he knew part of his base actually wants to be ’murican.
So by now Carney is PM for sure, but it’s not been called yet if it’ll be a minority or majority. I’m not excited about having a paragon of neoliberalism as federal leader (still better than Poilievre *sigh*) so I’m hoping for a minority.
