And this isn't even touching on the fact that undocumented immigrants cannot vote, and one is therefore punishing bystanders for a perceived lack of Party Devotion on the part of one's family members, not to mention children and other loved ones experiencing loss and grief, not to mention queer and/or neurodivergent people who often rely on others for housing, etc., etc.
And all this aside, the complete lack of solidarity or understanding of mutual aid and the type of society we strive to create. I don't talk to my MAGA brother, I don't love him or personally care for him in any way, but baseline compassion dictates that I won't turn him away if he shows up in the soup kitchen. And I especially wouldn't call ICE on my worst enemies. If it's not an option I'd do against a documented person, then to do so would be pure bigotry based on immigration status. And we all know what this is: Racism.
