People are so stupid.
I hate musk > I destroy teslas > damaged car leaves in a contract workshop > income for Tesla ergo for musk > costs paid by the insurance company are passed on to all insured persons.

This is not how you destroy billionaires

[-] j4k3@lemmy.world 74 points 1 month ago

(No one wants to buy a Tesla) == ouchies for billionaire

[-] IceFoxX@lemm.ee 9 points 1 month ago

Exactly. But harming the owners of this junk car is pointless anyway. They will suffer from the consequential costs of wear and tear anyway.

[-] ThatWeirdGuy1001@lemmy.world 38 points 1 month ago

I think the main point is to show them we're not gonna tolerate anyone using his products and therefore giving him money in the first place.

Personally I don't understand why it's just the cybertrucks getting the hate. Muskrat was a fuckin loser way before then he just hid it by trying to act like a memelord.

[-] skulblaka@sh.itjust.works 22 points 1 month ago

The truck is just the most obvious sign of your loyalties. They were only released after Musk was already completely mask-off, are notoriously low quality and expensive, and there's no reason to get one at all beyond signaling that you want to suck off Elon Musk. Some people bought Tesla cars years ago because they were a genuinely decent EV for the time and Musk wasn't in all the news yet. The same cannot be said about the Cybertruck.

[-] Addv4@lemmy.world 18 points 1 month ago

Mostly because they are one of the more obvious examples of expensive cars from tesla, only really bought by dumb wealthy people. The model 3 is pretty common in my area, though I doubt they are selling many new ones now, so it's considered more like a nice camry by a lot of people.

[-] ThatWeirdGuy1001@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago

Idk personally I cringe just as hard at the sight of a tesla car as much as a cybertruck.

[-] legion02@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

I give a little more leway there because those cars were out before it was clear how awful Muk really is. Cybertruck owners have no excuse.

So do you think it is clever if A. the person who caused the damage even has to pay for it or B. which is much more likely... The damage is paid for by the insurance company, but premiums will rise for everyone in the long term. So the opponents pay for the damage indirectly. The owner has a bit of trouble, well. Revenues at musk increase as a result, as I said

[-] Blue_Morpho@lemmy.world 18 points 1 month ago

Insurance companies do not spread risk because it reduces profit. If the Cyber truck costs more in repairs, only the premiums for Cyber Truck owners go up.

[-] NoForwardslashS@sopuli.xyz 10 points 1 month ago

Oh no, we mustn't protest the fascists, it will hurt my insurance premiums!

[-] j4k3@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

Sell the thing while you still can. It will be worthless when the company fails.

DeLorean had no modem that required connection to the company servers. No one has ever owned a Tesla. They pay full price to rent something that they do not control.

[-] IceFoxX@lemm.ee 6 points 1 month ago

Safe. But who is stupid enough to buy them? The people who would be eligible have bought the junk. They're all guaranteed to be rusting already. xD

[-] BradleyUffner@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

The Shame Wizard would consider it

It's also about the message for anyone that sees it.

Supporting Nazis has consequences

[-] IceFoxX@lemm.ee 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

[-] theUwUhugger@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

I really really really don’t think the intentions of the vandalizers were to personally buttfuck Muskie, they wanted to fuck that the owner! Which they did!

[-] Zdvarko@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago
[-] theUwUhugger@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Why what?

Why I don’t think that no one would destroy an already bought product with the intention of hurting the parent company? Because it very obviously doesn’t and I firmly believe that all ppl would be capable of figuring it out by saying it out loud?

[-] ajmaxwell@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

The people selling, manufacturing, and designing these vehicles will take their skills and labor elsewhere. The owners, who have no transferable skills, are stuck holding the empty bag.

[-] peregrin5@lemm.ee 8 points 1 month ago

"Skills"

-looks at Cybertruck-

-snort-

[-] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Plenty of skilled people work on flops because the fool at the top of the pyramid demanded they make something fundamentally flawed.

It's like being paid to learn.
