before or after the democrats tried to shut it down?

[-] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 29 points 1 week ago

You mean that trump tried to shut down?

[-] fallowseed@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

"On April 24, President Joe Biden signed legislation requiring TikTok parent ByteDance to sell to a U.S. owner within a year or to shut down."

[-] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago

Yes the one that trump started. Thanks for coming out.

[-] fallowseed@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

did biden have to sign?? can you at least admit it was bipartisan or does that shake you to your tribalist core?

[-] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago

Fuck, can you? Yeah I know biden signed it, I was just showing you that you were wrong about it being the dems lol. Tribalist core? Lol

[-] fallowseed@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

and op is wrong to implicate only republicans... so i guess we've come to some accord

[-] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

You mean the poster for the article that says there is a gop bias? Or me for calling you out for saying "democrats"?

[-] fallowseed@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

yeah i wanna know if that bias was before or after apr 24

[-] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

It could very well be but that's irrelevant to the article

[-] Mannimarco@lemmy.dbzer0.com 13 points 1 week ago

Are you lying or just stupid? Because it was definitely trump that shut it down

[-] fallowseed@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Your grasp of recent history is mind boggling stupid to have ignored what happened, literally 5 years ago when trump and the GOP created the law and EO to shut down TikTok.

As a troll, you're not even remotely believable. Go back to your cave, and try again.

The resposes here are amazing. It's stunning how quickly the memoryholing is kicking in.

[-] fallowseed@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

sorry in advance for the strays you'll catch for saying as much.. yeah, its heavily brigaded/astroturfed just about everywhere you go, nowadays. we're to believe this is the common sentiment because by god, look at how many downvotes they can muster... i'm ambivalent, the truth isn't something they can bully out of my hands

[-] Aqarius@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Oh, that's as expected. What's interesting, though, is the same exact argument pattern to other recent debacles. Like, "How dare TikTok/Progressives/Arabs side against us? Could it be they resent that we openly despise them and very recently fucked them over? No, that never happened, also Trump did it too! The only possible explanation for their hostility is that they're ontologically evil, and we therefore have no choice but to continue openly despising them and trying to fuck them over!" Like, if this were a book, it would be panned for it's heavy-handed hubris allegory.

[-] fallowseed@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

i can still allow for them to be misinformed and or differently oriented- so not necessarily evil. as for fucking them over, i don't care so much about that directly- i have more modest ambitions. i want people to see how often there's a great big elephant in the room that you're really 'not supposed to' talk about. eating 20 downvotes for an innocuous comment is revelatory
