8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners.
The auto mod will contact you if a link shortener is detected, please delete your post if they are right.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Shouldn't the fascist Nazis be knocking on your door, OP's door, and the publishers of Democracy Now! door and putting them in a political torture camp?
Or are we just being hyperbolic when we say it's a nazi coup?
Even Hitler did not manage to get the Gestapo set up until 4 months after he was appointed as chancellor. It has only been 3 weeks. Auschwitz was not set up until 7 years after his rise to power. Though the first concentration camp, which I imagine was more mild, was set up after a few months.
It feels like you are arguing in bad faith.
If I am getting ready to go hiking in an area where there may be bears, I don't say to myself, "I am not currently being attacked by a bear, so I will probably not need bear mace." In this analogy I like hiking (living in the democracy that I was born in and served to defend) therefore I will not choose to just not go hiking (leaving).
I don't know whether they're just ignorant of history or are trolling, but this person's whole argument seems to rely on the idea that Nazis aren't Nazis until they start actively killing people in concentration camps and until then, it's not fair to call them Nazis.
So I guess the Nazis weren't Nazis for the first seven years Hitler was in power (or any of the years before that).
