Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. If you have to stop and think "Is this fair use?", it probably isn't. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.

Rule 3: Opinions articles, or Articles based on misinformation/propaganda may be removed. Sources that have a Low or Very Low factual reporting rating or MBFC Credibility Rating may be removed.

Rule 4: Posts or comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, anti-religious, or ableist will be removed. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudiced.

Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.

Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

I admit I'm super surprised that the conscription age is 25.
At 25 people actually have had chance to finish their education, maybe work a few years, experience real life outside school and be mostly formed individuals.
This is bad for attacking armys like the US and Russia, where brainwashing of teenagers makes it easier to get them to pull the trigger on defenseless people.
This is good for defending armys where people actually know what they fight for.
I would think it would be better for defending armies to have every able-bodied person fight the invaders. Less troops seems like a worse thing than more troops.
Drafts are barbaric.
We shouldn't accept this shit at any age in any country.
If we all just fucking stopped doing the dirty work of warmongers we would no longer have wars.
The warmonger is the one invading Ukraine.
If the russian civilans followed this rule there would be no aggressors.

If we want the US to stay in control of the world then it's necessary to fight Russia, but it's not necessary for amy of them to die

In the meanwhile it makes sense for a country being invaded to do whatever it can for self preservation, especially in a defensive manner.
EDIT: I'm not going to bother. You believe that all it takes is for everyone in the world to reject war, with no viable plan instead of hand waiving "education will fix things". Wishful thinking at best, forced indoctrination at worst.

Yes the solution is to reject war.
No it's not easier than everyone making the right decision for anything else, but it is the right decision.

I'm going to propose something.
The most idealistic, "right" decision, done in the wrong context, is the wrong decision.
For example, let's say all of Ukraine rejects war. They no longer resist Russia.
Did we save the world? No. That is appeasement, and that didn't work out to well with Hitler.
Again. Prove the worth and viability of your ideas by encouraging the ones throwing the punches to reign it in first, before applying such lofty and naive ideals to those trying to defend themselves.

But you can't have "everyone" reject war without including warmongering fascists in the category of "everyone".
Seeing as you acknowledge how difficult that is, are we on the same page about how unrealistic your original solution is?
The Russians are at their doorstep with guns. You can't just sit there saying "I don't have a fight with you" and expect them to peacefully leave. They've already shot your neighbours. The choice is not yours. You either fight or you die.

How do you not understand that Russia has invaded their country and is murdering them and stealing their land?
If someone broke into your house and was about to shoot you and your teenage daughter and wife were in the other room would you be like "yeah I don't believe in violence"? What good would that do?
Yes the state you were born in is your family and you must defend them like your daughter.
The political body that happened to be in control by force of the territory where your parents fucked owns your soul and can send you to your death when you have barely finished puberty and aren't even done developing your brain.
The arbitrary social construct of "the state" is a higher form of power that not only can (in the ability sense) but morally must order children to die to defend itself.
Anyone trying to take their family and leave the warzone is a criminal and must be killed. That land must be defended, those politicians have graciously let you live for too long.
You go fight and die in Ukraine, if enough of you did they wouldn't be sending their kids. You go and do it, I'll pay for your plane ticket.

Because Ukrainians in general didn't want the war to begin with.
How do you propose we achieve that solution, then? We do not live in a post-scarcity world, so there will always be someone who wants what their neighbor has.
Or you'd all be drafted into the military of the conquering country that was the last holdout for not drafting its people.
