“His behavior could have been stopped long before things like this broke our hearts to read, his abuse didn’t have to reach me & many others including women, men, & minors.. whom of which will forever traumatize an entire industry,” she wrote. “He is a soulless human inside of a systemic problem within the entertainment industry that has been ran by soulless people before he even hit the scene.”

“I’ve got a lot I can’t tell,” Kutcher revealed about attending Combs’ White Parties on a 2019 episode of Hot Ones. “Can’t tell that one either. … I’m actually cycling through them. Diddy party stories, man, that was some weird memory lane thing.”

  • Ashton Kutcher

Dude gave a speech to congress about "modern slavery" of sex trafficking, but can't talk about systemic abusers he actually knew. He resigned from THORN after writing letters of support for Danny Mastersons, but it's just so infuriating to see how performative his actions have always been.

Bitch defended Danny Masterson too

[-] Chill_Dan@lemmy.world 58 points 1 week ago

The scientologist rapist Danny Masterson?

[-] Cyberflunk@lemmy.world 22 points 1 week ago

Very same.

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis: Masterson's former "That '70s Show" co-stars wrote letters asking the judge for leniency

Debra Jo Rupp: Another "That '70s Show" cast member who played Kitty Forman, wrote a letter sharing positive anecdotes about Masterson

Billy Baldwin: Masterson's brother-in-law wrote a letter in support

Giovanni Ribisi: An actor who was raised in Scientology, also wrote a letter supporting Masterson

It's too bad about Ribisi, he was a good actor. Thankfully he seems to have disappeared.

He did cinematography for the movie "Strange Darling" that came out recently and it was really well done. He was also on the Amazon series "Sneaky Pete," which I thought the first season of was pretty good. Been a fan of his since the 90's, it's too bad about his Scientology background/connection

[-] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 2 points 1 week ago

Yeah sneaky Pete is the last thing I've seen him in.

Well, fuck That 70's Show I guess. Hopefully Red and Topher are being chill. Donna too I reckon

[-] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

Wilmer Valderrama too, I hope!

Yes. I didn't mean to exclude everyone else, I just threw some out there

He still went to jail though I think?

He murdered Mars Volta frontman Cedric Bixler-Zavala's dog, too

I don't think it is performative. I don't give a shit about Kutcher. But his work was still valuable for helping end a lot of sex trade shit around the world. Don't discount that.

Think of it like this -

How many people tried to call out Cosby? Or Epstein? Or even Diddy? This was DECADES of call outs. It took a massive media push to finally get something to happen.

People are literally calling Drake and Trump a pedo TODAY and these dudes are walking around.
