My fiancé is disabled. On bad days (emotionally or physically) ordering is the best way to get food. It's expensive as fuck but it's a lot better than barely eating or not eating at all.

I'm disabled as well and understand this a lot. Thank you for helping them have a safe food they can eat. Please always remember that when you're providing care to someone, you need to care for your own emotional and physical needs as well. Ordering in can be a reprieve for you too and that's valid. Ignore the other commenter, they're giving me red flags about being controlling anyway.

So's my wife, but I'm not feeding her Taco Bell. She already has enough problems.

Fam they gave you the reason, you know almost nothing about their situation, show more empathy

Don't be so harsh

What if she asked for Taco Bell? Do you always choose what she eats?

[-] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

She does not care for Taco Bell.

I often choose what she eats since I do all the cooking. It's not like I don't know what she likes after twenty years.

It's okay to be proud of your actions but that's different to robbing the value of other people effort.

You might be Messi and the other guy is Di Maria. The greatest football team of all time needed both :)

P.s. yeah, the example is not crystal clear but it sounded funny to me, so..

Their cousin's dog was attacked by a horde of wild taco bells.

If you can handle the upfront cost Factor has been a lifesaver for me. I'm in the exact same boat. I love to cook but on bad days I can't even look at the stove or oven. Factor heats up in a couple minutes and while it's not health food, it's healthier than most delivery.

Factor and cook unity got me through my surgery recovery and divorce (same time!). They're great options. I prefer cook unity but my understanding is it's local chefs so ymmv, and since it is less industrialized sometimes the meals are a bit odd like they stopped giving a fuck about ratios that day and just slapped whatever in there
