Here are the basics. The details are horrific.

1. I intend to vote uncommitted in my state's Democratic primary, not that it makes any difference here.

2. I intend to vote for whatever heartless soulless ghoul (i.e., Biden) wins in the general election, not that it makes any difference in this shithole.

3. BUT (and this is super important to understand) this is NOT a democracy. I agree that we don't want a Republican takeover because they're nothing but a glorified hate group. But people who say shit like "we've got to protect American democracy" are 🤡. This ain't one.

4. Because having to vote for one candidate with no real alternative is not a democracy. And that's the situation here.

5. But please vote. I know it's hard, and I know the Democrats are a bunch of right-wing capitalists and genocide apologists, but what choice have we?

6. And help people get to the polls. Every election, factions in my state work hard to keep Native Americans from the polls. Don't let this happen, nor allow anyone to intimidate you or others from voting.

This is not an anti-voting community. I'm very careful about only posting against parties and systems, not against actually voting.

And I've noticed a new trend in places like reddit and even Lemmy to claim that calling it a genocide "devalues" the word.

This is the same exact strategy used by the alt right to avoid being labeled "Nazis," even though the description fits in both cases.

I cannot recommend this book enough. It's a very accessible, approachable text with many examples of anarchist and other stateless communities. It also answers many questions that people ask about anarchism.

It's a great read, whether you're new to anarchism or been here a while.
