Hi all, just found this community and figured I’d share my one-two combo I call Thelma and Louise. I guess I have a type after all! Maybe I should get a 1911 to round it all out….

Glock 23 slides (lemmy.world)

Ive been a strictly iron sights on pistols guy my whole gun owning life but I’ve been converted and want to get a red dot on my Gen 4 G23. Started looking for optic ready slides and there’s a plethora of manufacturers. Is there anything in particular to look out for with aftermarket Glock slides?

Now we're mixing the leadership of law enforcement and military.

In other news, armed minorities are harder to suppress.

Authorities arrested the staffer, named by Capitol Police as Kevin Batts, Monday evening after Batts told officers outside the Senate galleries he was armed, the department said. Batts had been led by Booker around security screening at a Senate office building earlier in the day, according to the department.

Booker is such a hypocrite. He had to have known that his guy had a gun, why would else would he bypass security?

Looks like the #JaredPolisGunBan may pass. I just don't understand how making lawful gun ownership more expensive to obtain, allowing county officials to arbitrarily deny these rights, and forcing a conservation agency to fund it all is a Democrat priority. They should be doing the opposite, especially in the face of Trump and a possible 3rd term.

I just ordered one of these bad boys from PSA. They got em for about $240 and with the $100 credit for the beretta store I’ll be able to grab a holster for nothing. Anybody who’s had one of these have any strong feeling either way on it? Have you had any cycling problems with any particular ammos.

I’m getting back into the habit of carrying regularly and intend to replace the beretta pico I used to carry in situations regular compacts were unconcealable. I’m not looking for a high performance luxury shooting experience. Just something I trust will work and that I can deliver center mass up to 30 yards.

I’ve got a Beretta Pico I got 8-9 years ago. Few hundred rounds in it stopped functioning properly. The trigger doesn’t reset or catch again after firing(also happens when empty and dry firing). I can generally fidget with it to get catch and have tension again for a single pull before it goes back to having no tension.

I was reorganizing and found it in my safe again and want to see if I can get it functioning again. Looks like it was a somewhat common issue and in 2017 beretta offered a trigger upgrade for it which made the slide and trigger less heavy to pull and the people I’ve seen posting about this issue reported having it resolved with this trigger upgrade. One cat reported replacing just the trigger to no avail but upon sending to Beretta for the “trigger upgrade” had it resolved.

The next time I’m home I’m going to get the serial number and contact Beretta to see if they can be of any help.

Has anyone had success fixing this themselves and if so what parts did you replace? Beretta still sells some parts for it and midwestgunworks has just about every part. I’ve got no issue just buying and replacing all the guts in it but if anyone has an idea as to what specific part was behind this issue I’d appreciate being able to narrow the scope of this project.

TLDR; Beretta Pico trigger doesn’t recatch after being pulled. What’s the fix?

I recently got a complete .300 blk AR pistol from psa with a 7.5” barrel. I was going to swap out the bcg it came with for a BCM m16 BCG I’ve got at home. I’ve got no experience with ARs with barrels shorter than 16”. Is there any reason the BCM M16 BCG would be less optimized in this short pistol?

Below is all the info I have on the BCG it came with: Full-auto profile bolt carrier group. Shot-peened, mil-spec Carpenter No. 158® steel bolt. Gas Key Hardened to USGI Specifications, Fastened with Grade 8 screws, and Staked Per Mil-Spec.

I know this might not be the right place for this but I just thought if any of you are interested in shooting black powder I have created a community here on to hang out on. I was the black powder mod on reddit when it first started a long long long time ago before the enshitifacation.

Ok, so I just bought my first shotgun (former military, and longtime pistol/rifle owner). I've got next to zero experience with shotguns however. It's a GForce GFY-1 i bought it without reading reviews, which say it jams a lot. Whoops. Anyways, it comes with 3 chokes, and I have no idea which is for what scenario. Can someone ELI5 the use for them?

Also after reading reviews it says you can't use slugs, why is that? Also, if I can't use slugs, is it ok to use other spicy ammo like dragons breath or flechettes or anything?

Edit: sold it before putting a single shell through it and bought a Remington 870. But I still want a tough semi auto.

Im looking into some plate carriers and soft body armor and im curious what brands have a good reputation. Most of the threads and reviews I’m finding online are from years ago I’d like to know where things stand now.

From what I’ve gathered AR500 is no good. RMA is a respectable budget option. What else can you tell me?

Hey folks, My partner and I took our first couple of handgun classes and went to the range a couple more times to try different handguns and practice. We are now at the stage where we are considering buying our first guns.

We want Toyota corolla type guns, highly available parts, large user base and reliable. We hope this will translate to a large knowledge base on potential issues and solutions, ease of maintenance and well suited for beginners.

They landed on the G19 and I on the G45. We have $1k to spend on each gun + potential upgrades. The main areas of focus are increased accuracy and ease of handling. There is a common advice to buy your gun stock and wait before making any changes. I find, when it comes to muscle memory, that the earlier you have your final setup ready, the better it is.

We would need your help and knowledge to make these 2 guns reliable tools with that price constraint. Every gun video out there wants you to upgrade every single part, we rather focus on the essentials that will make us more effective.
