They can't use this to make a useful database of we just flood it with whatever lol

Link for those who feel like doing a little low effort sabotage. I was trying to find conversion therapist info to report them but couldn't find anything. Could be an idea. Report transphobic businesses or doctors.

Gender care: The treatment of trans youth with puberty blockers is a Dutch invention that is now used worldwide. However, in an increasing number of countries, there is growing debate about this ‘Dutch Approach’. NRC spent a year and a half at the oldest and largest gender clinic in the Netherlands, where this care model was developed in the 1990s. „They think you can just roll into a transition…

I was casually browsing on it today and now all profile pics showing a penis are blurred so you must upload a face pic to unblur the pictures.

Anyway, that means you can't browse profiles without disclosing your identity using incognito mode. At the same time it means your actual photo is now illegally being collected by a shitty company because there's no such law in Washington state dictating that websites must blur content if not presented with a photo to match to photo ID. The website says that they will use your photo to match with your ID....who gave this company access to everyone's IDs?

Anyway I could not screen shoot it from incognito, but maybe one of you fine awesome people could?

At the proposal’s introduction, the MAGA loyalist was joined by two other far-right members on the five-person council in support. By the end of the six-hour meeting, MAGA Mike’s Pride flag ban was literally in tatters: Munzing himself shredded the document in a fit of red-faced rage.

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.world/post/27950233

Summary:

In February 2025, as U.S. President Donald Trump called for an end to diversity, equity and inclusion practices in the federal workforce, reports claimed the Department of Homeland Security — led by Secretary Kristi Noem — had removed bans on conducting intelligence activities on people based on their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Such reports shared copies of the original DHS report, which showed a rule that originally prohibited personnel from conducting intelligence activities based only on a person's "race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, country of birth, nationality, or disability." The latest such report appeared to have removed the references to sexual orientation and gender identity.

The claim is correct that the current DHS report detailing such a rule no longer states how it applies to sexual orientation or gender identity. We looked at an older copy of the report as well as the latest copy and found the reference had been omitted. As such, we rate this claim as true.

I made an identity test (illectrility.github.io)
submitted 1 week ago by illectrility@sh.itjust.works to c/lgbtq_plus

So, in an effort to deepen my understanding of myself and others, I took a look at some of those online tests. I had some issues with all of them: 1. They asked redundant questions. Sometimes, the answer to one question would make asking a different question moot. 2. They all only did one thing or mixed two things together poorly (i.e. an asexuality test that asks questions about one's romantic interests). 3. They weren't open source.

I made this test in an attempt to remedy those issues as best I could. I am fully aware that this is a very rough test and obviously doesn't include all of the beautiful and vast labels. I hope I still did a fairly good job.

Some of the design decisions include:

  • Testing one's gender identity first to be used later on in the romantic and sexual orientation parts of the test.
  • Measuring romantic and sexual orientation in four directions (gyno, andro, ace/aro, bi).
  • I also added pan to differentiate between being attracted to multiple genders and being attracted regardless of gender. I thought that was an important distinction to make.
  • I added an ace/aro-spec test that includes ace, gray-ace and aceflux (aro, gray-romantic and aroflux for romantic orientations). Being aroace myself, I wanted to test this so I wouldn't ask aro/ace people to whom they're romantically/sexually attracted to.

I did a practice round in my fairly diverse circle of friends and they all seemed to think it was pretty accurate. This gave me the confidence to share this with you all. Again, I am fully aware that there will no doubt be people for whom this test will not be accurate and I'm sorry if I didn't include your label in this test. The way it's built makes it hard to add microlabels. If you have any suggestions or would like to share if the test was accurate (with or without disclosing your labels), feel free to do so. Thank you for your time.
