Follow the 20-20-20 rule. Work for 20 mins, drive for 20 mins to the airport, then fly for 20 hours to your holiday destination of choice.

Last two Christmas markets are both in Cologne. Cologne has a bunch of markets and we visited 4 of them. Our last day today was very wet and windy, so in the end it was a bit of a down day because we were a bit melancholy about our holiday finishing and having to head back to reality. It’s been an amazing trip and we’ve had such an incredible time.

Best markets: Würzburg (our first proper Christmas market and it snowed, plus Ravenna Gorge and the medieval-themed market in Munich because it was just so much fun (there was an Irish folk band playing and the vibes were super fun).

Cologne Cathedral Christmas market.

Every time I open this sub I’m logged out of it again. Any ideas why that might happen? It’s only been a problem for the last couple of days.

Munich Christmas market! Much less crowded than Nuremberg, although less variety in the stalls.

Nuremberg Christmas market this morning. It was HEAVING all day, too busy to properly enjoy. We went to the castle and wandered the city instead, just went in for a little while to check it out this evening before dinner.

Bamberg was very pretty, and I tried Glühwein for the first time (jet lag and then wasn’t feeling well, so chose to wait). Man, that stuff packs a punch. I had one small cup and I am veeeeeeerrrrrry tipsy! We’re staying in Nuremberg for a few nights now, and there’s a train strike for a couple of days so we’ll have to just stick within Nuremberg itself.

Mr Procrastinata and I are on holiday in Germany. We’ve arrived in Frankfurt and it’s -2° this morning! Heading for Würzburg where it’s snowing. Winter’s here!

Man, what a shocking set of events in Auckland. How awful. Thinking of our Kiwi neighbours today.

If we’re doing pups, here is Procrastidog the other day. He’s the sweetest little boy and is so chuffed to have me home again. He crawled onto my yoga mat this morning while I was doing a forward fold so he could be closer to my hands to pat him 😍

Just want to vent a bit about a really horrible experience trying to go out to trivia in Brisbane tonight. I’m up here for a work conference and didn’t want to go to the costume dinner thing they had, so booked a table at a local pub thinking I’d see if another team wanted a solo extra. First off the pub was super seedy and gross, the stickiest place I’ve been to in years. Then the only thing on the menu I could eat (recently developed awful reflux that I think is triggered by onion and garlic) was the pear and rocket salad and you guys, it is in my top 5 worst meals of all time. It was genuinely inedible. Then the trivia host ignored my three separate times as she went table to table. Genuinely ignored me waving and saying excuse me. At that point I just said fuck it and left. Now I’m sitting back in my hotel room eating yogurt and an apple as the saddest fucking dinner because my anxiety is through the roof. Fuck me. Plus it’s raining so now I have wet jeans that might not dry in time for me to pack them in my suitcase tomorrow.

A++ thread name, Thornbury Witch! Morning all. Conference starts today so I have to put on work clothes and interact with people. I really hope they’re alright at asking questions to keep a conversation going!

A woman on the train opposite me is having an absolute blast smiling and nodding her head along to her music. It is so joyous to see. Even better that she’s wearing headphones and I just have to imagine the music!
