Yep, you would just run a couple of commands in a terminal which would reset your layered apps and rebase to a ublue build of your choosing:
Got any good HTTP links worth bookmarking for Linux ISOs? lol
Honestly, any enterprise OEM will be similar, such as Dell or Lenovo. Yes, their mainboards are proprietary, but you can easily source them from legitimate parts vendors. That's why there are so many refurbished Optiplexes and ThinkCentres on Amazon. They're trivial to repair and most don't even require tools.
You cannot easily upgrade to a dedicated GPU unless replacing an existing unit, which is standard for laptops as well.
Perhaps more importantly, websites can determine which fonts are installed on your system (regardless of which you're enforcing), making fingerprinting much easier.
I guess it depends on your definition of clean. I use the classic Bodum French press, so your mileage may vary (some cheap presses catch more grounds in the screen area).
I wash the glass carafe like any glassware, and then simply rinse and wipe the press itself under the tap without soap throughout the week. Once every couple of weeks, I'll dismantle the plunger and thoroughly clean it with dish soap to remove any stains.
Honestly mate, it sounds like you've done a number of customizations, tweaks, and package changes, some of which you didn't document and now cannot recall.
The easiest and cleanest solution is to drop-in your much faster SSD and perform a fresh installation. If you run into any post-install issues, you'll at least have a clean system to troubleshoot. And the performance difference will be night and day.
Try not to get hung up on having LibreOffice around. It's just an application. The reality is there are likely hundreds of binary files on your system that you'll never use. And you might even find it handy some day if you're without internet and need to work on a document or spreadsheet.
As for the old 1TB drive, you could purchase a USB drive enclosure and use it as an external drive for storage or backups if you don't already have a solution for that.
Edit: As of Bookworm's release, firmware is now provided by the non-free-firmware
repo, enabled by default and included on the official installation media. It might not be included on the netinst media though, so if you need wifi during setup I would stick to the standard ISOs.
It was supposed to, but looks like it's been cut from this release. Haven't seen any updated announcements as to why though.
Voted C. It's by far the most robust option. It looks stylish, professional, and could easily accommodate a flat, 1-color design.
The follower-only limitation is likely by design. They don't want you to see only those you're interested in because it limits advertising power. This platform is almost entirely geared for selling things to its users.
I may be in the minority here, but I don't miss the sexual NSFW content from reddit at all. I was getting tired of seeing OF accounts posting semi-flirtatious things in completely unrelated subs in order to garner attention.
Fifteen-year veteran of reddit checking in. So glad to be a part of this societal shift, and excited to see where we go from here!
If anyone else is missing an old-reddit/digg style UI on the desktop, I've published Rediggit for Lemmy. It's very much a work-in-progress, but it should scratch that immediate itch for more legroom. Currently for light theme only, but more coming (and feel free to hack away and shape my mess into something even better).
I've enjoyed seeing some of these blasts from the past, but I admit it's not as nice when the VM host window is captured as well. Just something to consider... I appreciate it all the same.
